Buying a American Muscle Hood Scoop for my 2013 GHIG!

I am getting ready to buy the 2013-2014 Hood Scoop for my 2013 5.0 GHIG from American Muscle, I am wondering if anyone has purchased this Hood Scoop and if so how difficult to install and if they like theirs?

PM DWC_SmOziLLa, he recently installed one. He started a thread on it, but I can't seem to find it.

He bought the Roush and ive been on the fence between the Roush and AM Hood Scoop, the AM Hood Scoop is $274 without my discount and the Roush is $210 + have to have it painted which is anywhere from $200-$275.

So im totally confused on which one to buy.....The AM Hood Scoop is slightly smaller and the Roush matches what Ford put on them at the factory...

Awesome! You're going to love the Pre-Painted MMD hood scoop. I think the hood scoop really looks great in between the hood vent louvers! I hope some more people can comment here and give you personal experience with this item. I've seen the hood scoop installed on Project MMD in person and I'm a big fan. It also helps to have it pre-painted, because that can cost a pretty penny to get it painted at a body shop!

Hope this helps.

The Roush is a little different from the factory Ford unit, but I think better. The Roush is a great unit and is well secured to the hood. Mine has been on for over a year and is one of my favorite mods.

Well, it all depends on what you want and the look you want. I can't imagine they look much different and it appears regardless of which one you get the installation is going to be similar. If he got the Roush I know that he did some drilling. Looking at the installation for all the Hood Scoops you are going to have to drill as well. Save yourself some money and get one of the pre-painted from AM

IMO this one looks similar to the Roush. Mustang Hood Scoop - Pre-painted (10-12 GT, V6) - Free Shipping

But IMO I like the honeycomb grill with the MMD
MMD Mustang Hood Scoop - Pre-painted 71331 (13-14 GT, V6) - Free Shipping

Good luck and post pics when you get on...

The Roush scoop is a lot lower profile, or at least gives that impression because there is a better transition from the sides to the center. Also do not try to use a 11-12 scoop on a 13-14 hood. There is enough difference that you will not get a good fit.

One thing to remember is that on some colors, there might be a slight variance due fading or run differences. I have seen enough difference on pre-painted parts to ruin the effect the owner was trying achieve. White seems to be the worse offender. I had no issues with my rear side window louvers from AM, but I have seen a few cases that made me cringe.

I havent purchased neither the Roush or AM brand Hood Scoop yet.....Still on the fence.

I found the Roush for $208 on eBay and my local dealer said they would prep and paint it for $150. And the AM brand is already pre-painted for $274....

So there is basically a $85 difference between the two.
