I know that they're not worth it in terms of performance. Neither was the splitter, stripes, or strut tower brace.
I've had K&N FIPKs on almost every vehicle I've owned for the past 15 years. The only one where I could feel a real gain was an S-10. I've never had a problem with contaminants getting through or even heard of such a problem except for people who think they need to clean them every year and they oil them wrong (or don't bother oiling them at all).
I was asking because you don't see the Mustang crowd going for the K&N anymore. Everyone is buying the Airaids, which used to be for ricers only. I was wondering if people were having bad experiences with the K&N intake or they were just saving some money because they all do about the same thing.
