Just ordered up a 2013 Boss cluster from my dealer local to me that I use for my shop.just gave him the vin and the mileage and that's it, called me back after he called ford to place the order and said be here in 2 days.Wasn't a issue at all.... 200 core charge.. I told him the cluster was destroyed he said as long as the get something back the core is refunded... It's more of a security thing than anything else he told me... Rembered you are buying a "new" cluster not refurbished...

^^ exactly ^^ I have heard a LOT of folks balk and warn about not getting a core refund. I have not heard one single person say they were denied a core payment.

You did give him a Boss VIN # didnt you?

yes, gave him a vin, from a 2013 Boss of of EBAY... they only needed the last 8. now just waiting on my VCMII and should be all set... i wonder if i can use that VCMII to adjust for tire size and gear ratio like the dealer did when they installed the track key...

deerslayer, towards the beginning of this post when you first put the BOSS cluster in you said that you flashed the PCM to BOSS factory tune? just wondering if i could do that and if the track key will still be operable. also wonder if i could do the track key BOSS tune since im changing to the BOSS intake and would like the higher rev limiter to take advantage of it.

I am sure you can. I did it by accident at first. I already had an aftermarket tune since I was catless. I just re-tuned with the aftermarket tune and was good to go. You can flash your PCM to the BOSS calibrations. You will need to have a VIN for a BOSS and enter it manually. When in IDS, it will want to use the calibrations for YOUR VIN as it recognizes that. You manually enter the BOSS vin and flash the calibrations for the PCM.
That being said, I am not sure about the BOSS Track Key after that. Since the Track Key for the BOSS is installed by Ford using the OS Oasis, you are going to need to know a dealer that has a COOL tech that will install the Track Key flash for you. You can buy a flash for a BOSS Track key, I did and sold it before using it because I had other plans for it, but the issue is going to be getting a Tech that has Oasis to do the flash for you. Your car will already have the necessary components, (dual path PCM, Track Key Cluster and a Key) the trick will be getting someone to enter a false VIN in Oasis to install it for you.

Were you able to access Module Programming at all?

I didn't even get to using the VCM II... The v86 software loaded but the disc for calibration would get 3/4 thru downloading and a error would come up... Bad disc.. So now I'm waiting for the company I got the VCM from to remotely install the software... So they say... When I hook up the VCM to the car it doesn't recognize the vin because there was no calibration, and there are 72 downloads of calibration files, started to download them but couldn't figure out how to get them into the IDS..... So this is still sitting here on my desk...lolClick image for larger version

And when I tried a 2011 fusion there was no module programming authorized.....so is it just this software? Has anyone used a VCM 2 on a 2014 (6/22/14) mustang? I'm stuck it seems at this point....

Ok, PATS is done, that was easy but as I said the track key is just a normal key now. There is a spot under module programming for personalization there is enable or disable track key, I hit enable but it says " check cable Vehicle battery to low" so it will not change it... Same when I go into ASBUILT under ABS put the cone in (218A) and tells me the same thing... I needed to use V91 because my car is a late 2014 and V86 doesn't reconize it... And yes I have the "extended programming" enabled..... And I keep a charger on the car and drove it for a hour and still get the same message

It's installed and functioning (less track apps) just a warning to let anyone with a late 2014 that there could be conflicts with V86 and will not work.

I was just toying with mine yesterday and noticed my v86 couldn't open Module Programming now on my 2013 GT either. I even tried the Extend Program which solved that issue last time. It isn't really an issue for me as I already have mine done but just wanted to let everyone know. Someone may have a solution to this that I am just unaware of.

I couldn't even get v86 to recognize my vin.. V91 that came with the device did work, at least with PATS.. But it keeps giving the " car battery voltage low" when I goto change the ASBUILT of the module , and when I goto enable Track Key... Battery charger is on the car the whole time voltage Is 12.8 with key on car off... Even running it doesn't work.... Might have to bite the bullet and go to the dealer and babysit the tech. V86 works fine on my buddies 2012

Ok, when I goto module reprogramming, scroll down to AS-BUILT click on ABS then it tells me to type from line 760-01-01 does that look correct? I keep seeing change line 720-01-01 & 720-02-01

Ok DO NOT get a track key if you plan on it having it installed BEFORE you swap clusters... You will have to goto the dealer to have them reactivate the TRACK KEY calibration and try and reprogram your track key again... I programmed all my keys and they work fine but no more track key activation... Off to the dealer Monday.. Just want to let all know out there who plan on getting it.

This probably means that the V86 program that I got this summer will not work on my car for whenever I do get a cluster. How do you go about getting the V91?

Did your car even have the vin recognized by the v86? Mine kept saying wasn't a recognized vin... But my car was built the end of 6/14

Mine recognized my VIN back when I first hooked mine up earlier this summer and was messing around with it. My car was built in Feb of 2013 so it's an early model 14. Hopefully mine will still work when I go to do this upgrade.

I had the same issue with not being able to access the module programming with v86 but v91 did have it enabled. If the v91 is needed I am pretty confident that someone can send you the file for the install.
