Coolant question

Hey guys i may be overreacting, but i just wanted to make sure.
So after 2 months I finally got my car back from the body shop yesterday. Today however, i noticed that they put "green" coolant in the reservoir. They did have to drain the entire system to pull and replace the radiator mount, but I'm worried that the green coolant is gonna hurt something. I remember specifically that it came with Ford specialty "orange" from the dealer. Which from what i heard is basically the same thing as dexcool. Can anyone help?

As long as all of it was changed you're fine. I wouldn't run dexcool in my enemy's car...

Good deal. Thanks man. Is the ford orange basically dexcool? Just wondering what I should replace it with in the future. Should i go back to the ford orange, or stick with the green?

I know dexcool is good for 100k and I believe the manual says the factory fluid is good for 100k as well. I don't think the green stuff belongs, plus it sure as hell isn't good for 100k, I would definitely check the manual and bring it to the attention of the body shop

This can cause issues if they didn't drain fill properly. Look at the fluid and see if you see thick gel or anything floating around. I did this years ago when I was learning how to work on cars. I drained and filled but some was still in the block. It turned into gel when I mixed it. I had to drain and flush several times and use a cleaner before adding fluid again. PITA.

I'd ask what specific coolant was used, as it may not be compatable with the alloys used in the engine block.

Most coolants advertise they are "safe" for all engines, and can be mixed/matched, but I'd ask the shop what they used just to be sure.

Good deal. I will call them today and find out. It has to go back anyway because the exterior temp sensor isnt working either.
They did a great job on the body though!

I was checking the manual and it never specified on which to use as long as it's a 50/50 mix

Yep, mine too. Looks like all the new coolants sold today are compatable with each other, and with engine alloy types.
