Headers mpg question

I just installed pypes LT with o/r x and my mpg went from averaging 14-16 to 7-8. Is this normal??? I also have flowmaster outlaw catback, jlt cai and bama 93 hybrid tune.

It is the Bama tune. Call them to get it fixed.

How can you spout this off without giving any info as to why this is your opinion?
It could be that the OPs driving style has changed because of the increase in HP.

Simply changing out the exhaust won't make the mpg go down, stock or aftermarket tune won't make a difference for that...... OP, did you make sure the O2 sensors are plugged in and functioning correctly? And how has your driving changed? My guess is he is driving the car a lot harder than before because of the exhaust.

Sounds like COT wasn't turned off in the tune. Without cats now your car is dumping fuel to cool the cats which are no longer present. This is the reason that unlike in older cars you cannot run the anti foulers and in fact need a tune to compensate for the lack of cats.

There shouldn't be a drop off like this. A good tune will actually increase MPG.

My driving habits don't vary and when I installed a BAMA 93 tune and JLT CAI I saw drastic drop in mpg. Returned it to stock and mpg is back to normal. I only use premium fuel on it.

Datalog your tune and have BAMA look at it. They should be able to improve both performance and efficiency. My original Steeda tune saw a drop of 2-3 mpg. Datalogged and new tune now gets great gas mileage.

This sounds very odd. Like listed in this thread, if the car is driven with a conscious decision with gas mileage in mind these mods will actually increase MPG. After installing long tubes and ditching the cats on my 2011 GT I went from 16.6 to 18-19 MPG. However, the first few tanks I was seeing around 10 MPG. That was caused by me wanting to hear the exhaust and see the power gains so I was doing a lot of aggressive driving.

We can definitely look into this tune for you and see what's going on here. If we need to make some small adjustments we can definitely do this for you! Please shoot me a PM with your order number included and I'll make sure you're taken care of, right away.

-Dan

How do you get 28MPG the highway? Do you have a V6?
