Straight pipes ( no mufflers)

Has anyone done this on the 13 and 14s. I just got my car today and already want it to be louder. I was thinking of taking it to a exhaust shop and having them cut off the stock mufflers and going straight pipes to 4" tips. What do you guys think? And will it sound good?

honestly dude i think that would sound and look like hammered sh*t. Just check your local craigslist and forums for exhaust stuff man it's all over the place. i see the GT500 mufflers going for $150-$200 used all the time. And a lot of ppl really like the gt500 plus resonator delete combo.

point is you're probably driving around in a 30k plus car.... don't hack it all up half *** man. If you want it really loud you can get muffler deletes which are like pypes pipe bombs or slp loudmouths.... they just replace your axel back mufflers. Your car though bud, if you want straight pipes, get em! Good luck.

I am having my stock switched early next week... parts already in. Cat's deleted with off road H pipe (pypes) and Pypes pype bomb muffler deletes so will be very similar to straigt pipes. I am going to post before and after audio if that helps any.

It'll sound mean down low but you'll be begging for ear defenders and acoustical foam when you get on it hard.

This car is really good at transferring vibes and noise to the cab. If you want your 30K car to sound like your 16 year old neighbour's 200K rusty Camaro, go for it.

Basically you're amplifying every exhaust noise with almost no tonal control. I think this sounds like crap but, that's just me.

I frankly hate this idea but, I guess that's obvious.

I have a 13 gt with bbk long tubes and a catted x-pipe along with a heart throb muffler delete.
The exhaust note is a really low note untill you start to get at about 3500 RPMs and it starts to scream.
It's definently an unrefined rumble but I love the sound, and get complements all the time. I would recommend it.
