I'd stay away from coil overs.

What is the cars intended usage?

I personally love coil overs. Fully adjustable ride height as opposed to just springs, while still being cheaper than bagging. They can be a bit stiff for daily driving though. I had BC Racing coil overs in my 86 MR2 and even on their softest setting I felt every crack and pebble in the road. I never had the balls to stiffen them up.

If you just want to be lower and handle well, springs and aftermarket shocks/struts with adjustable dampening are the way to go.

It really depends on what you're going for. If you plan on autocross or road course, I'd vote for coils. That is, if you don't mind having a bit of a rough ride around town. Maybe have the on their softest setting and have a decent tire with plenty of sidewall. Coils would also mean you wouldn't have to buy camber plates, which you'd need if you went with lowering springs and shocks/struts. There seems to be a resounding good review of the KONI struts and shocks when paired with aftermarket springs. Going that route, you'd get a close to stock comfort level ride, lower height and better cornering.

Now air suspension gets a nice ride, completely adjustable with the push of a button, multiple preset ride heights, even a lift for the winter if extra clearance is needed. But it comes with a price.

Every setup has their pros and cons, in the end it's up to you. I'm on a budget so will probably go with lowering springs and put more money elsewhere in the suspension to get it to handle better.

I've heard megan racing aren't the best & bc racing are better quality & basically the same setup! I was gonna go with bc because they seam to be the best bang for buck..they come with pillow mounts to adjust camber. The h&r & eibach don't come with that so u would need cc plates. Also the eibach are only height adjustable & I believe the the h&r too so u can't adjust the damper. I have the eibachs but I got a good deal on a lightly used pair so I pulled the trigger..i haven't put them on yet tho I still need cc plates but I hear that the eibach are almost stock ride quality. We need jayman in here he knows his suspension..u can try to PM him he always helps me out when I have ?s he'll hook u up!

NP! Yea I was turned away from megan coilovers & referred to bc coilovers. Their about the same price too & look similar but they're supposed to be better quality! I think primer2tone runs the bc on his 5.0. U should hit up jayman33 (ME username) from hypermotive performance he'll get u set up with what ur looking for!

I have to vote for BC if you go he coil route. Granted they're the only ones I have experience with, but still great quality, fit and finish, especially for the price. Hell, you could even step up to the inverted RAM coils for another couple hundred. From what I've read, they're the same as the BR, just inverted to reduce un-sprung weight. They retail for about $1500 for the RAM, but the BR you can find just about anywhere for 1k or less with free shipping, and the RAM for $1225.

The only bad thing I have to say about BC is that the top nut isn't a locking nut. My fronts came loose and started knocking after the first few days. We tightened it back up and I drove it every day for another 2 years with no issues ever again.

BMR everything with GT500 strut mounts and some 05-10 adjustable struts. I'll be using the Strange struts/shocks. Contact Jayman and he'll get you squared away.
