I have the RTR Axleback exhaust.

I like the black paint and RTR on the tips, and the deep rumble of the exhaust.

Nice. I've never heard of RTR. I will have to look them up. My outlaws have a very aggressive sound at idle and especially with high rpms

It's a very deep, somewhat loud growl at startup. Sounds great when I'm driving in the car, I'm sure it's even better outside the car.

The sound is very unique, because of a different chambering only used on them.

I'm not sure how to describe the system used.

The outlaws I have r pretty loud but not obnoxious either. Black muffler with a brushed 4" rolled tip. Looks almost stock just bigger and it says flowmaster on top of it. Couldn't b happier for the price

Just GT500s. Clean, no obnoxious noises or vibes, sounds like a bit of a mix between an Aston Martin V8 Vantage and the Bullitt soundtrack at slightly reduced volume on a stick car like mine.

Also, incredible value for the price and guaranteed OEM durability tests passed.

The RTR's also have 4" flared tips.

They are made by Magnaflow in partnership with RTR

Stock exhaust, still sounds good and is quite enough cruising through town or on the highway.

My Roush axles are pretty sweet. Best I've heard that were only from the axle. Not raspy and doesnt make the tone too deep. I get nothing but compliments. So far its my best buy and cant wait to add headers.

I started with GT500 Axlebacks. I liked the sound much better than stock. Made the car sound meaner.

Then I installed Magnaflow Tru-X offroad X pipe and I loved the increase in power and the increase in the sound.

But now I have the Kooks 1 3/4" primaries long tube/midlength headers with the catted H-pipe with the GT500 Axlebacks. I really like the sound. It is a deep H Pipe sound and possibly as loud as I should go to not get too much attention from the cops and upset my neighbors. However, I am contemplating to get the Borla Over-axle pipes to eliminate the resonators and the 2.5" exhaust pipe choke.

I heard some Pype Bomb axlebacks and they had a really aggressive and much deeper sound than my GT500's but that might be because they are like muffler deletes I think.

I'm happy w the GT500 axle backs. No drone, sounds mellow to me but it still gets lots of looks on drive-bys. I also deleted the sound tube into the car. I was amazed how quiet it sounds on the track compared to the Cobras and such. Depends what you're looking for. Maybe I'm a sign getting old. 😎

GT 500s are a mellow mix if Aston Martin V8 Vantage and Bullitt soundtrack.

Always buy one muffler quieter than you think you like. Easy to make a quiet muffler louder but you can't go the other way.

I go for quality over volume. The GT500s are definitely that.

Love my Roush axlebacks. Definitely amps the volume up at high rpm's and on a cold start. Has a nice throaty sound. Haven't heard to much annoying drone as of yet.

Absolutely love my Borla Ataks. Worth the price of admission when you feel the need to downshift to fourth on the freeway!

Flowmaster Outlaws. I love the low end bark I have, the pops and crackles on decelerations, and the gutteral scream at WOT. I turn heads everywhere I go, and more than a few guys at the car shows told me 'that's how a 5.0 is supposed to sound.'

The youtube vids do not do them justice - most of the sound that the outlaw outputs is felt, not necessarily heard -especially not thru dinky computer speakers.

The downside is the 2k drone, but I find it to not be as bad as others...maybe I have a higher tolerance.

When I go catless H pipe, I'm probably going to swap out the outlaws for something else, like some GT500s. The outlaw isn't so much a muffler as it is a resonator tube imo, and I'll need something to calm the noise from being catless.

I've been running cat-less Roush Axlebacks with a JBA H-pipe for over a year now and I absolutely love it. The other day i was going through the main gate on post and was stopped before entering. The guy stated that he has seen and heard a lot of mustangs come in and out of this post over the last couple months and that this one was by far the baddest sounding 5.0 hes ever heard. Granted that's just his opinion, but if you go with this setup you will bump into people at least two-three times a day wanting to just tell you that your car sounds good. I had the Roush axle-backs for about a month or two and they were very loud and raspy. I loved the cackle they gave when you let off the throttle. I've had the Blow By Racing off road x-pipe for almost two weeks now and OH MY GOD. It sounds so much better.

It's very loud at cold starts, sets my neighbor's car alarm off every morning at my apartment. The idle is quiet-ish, but the second I put my foot down it screams like a pornstar. It's a little untamed in the lower rpms, but over 3k it really finds its stride. It literally sounds like "bbwwwWWAAHHHH" at WOT.

scc2014gt, are your pipes lined up nicely with the back.of the car, specifically the rear valence? I don't like seeing pipes sticking out a lot or like one more than the other..

I like the way mine turned out, but it took some work to get it the way I wanted it and try to get it even. My brother did most of the work as this was my first ever exahust install : ) My tips barely come past the little overhang that kind of sits over top of the exhaust cut outs. I wanted to be seen to certain degree because I have the black powder coated tips. I think its pretty close to what the stock was if I recall.

I also have the Borla S types. Love the deep growl sound. As soon as the new X4 tuner comes out I will be putting in a high flow exhaust system and cat deletes from JEGS.

I bought the flowmaster American thunders used for 250 and they sound great. They make you want to roll around town slow they sound so good. But, when pulling a hill in 6th on cruise there is a lot of drone around 1800-2000. I usually shift up to 5th when it gets annoying. I will eventually get me an offroad h with some roush axle backs and sell the American thunders if they are still in good shape. they only have 3000 miles on them now.

I have Pypes Offroad H-pipe and black Pype Bombs. Cold start sounds great. Low sound until about 1800rpm. sound from 2000-3200 is ok, the note is deep so it resinates through the car but doesnt sound bad. From 3000 or so and up... LOVE it.
