This so done and over. This might have been innovative and cool circa 1990s but, like grunge, it's had it's day. For all the cost and complexity it just isn't really impressing anyone anymore.

Send a message via AIM to lowflyn
Most of the kits have hinges too small for the doors and they end up out of alignment in no time and in some cases broken within a year.

Plus they just don't belong on a stang

Idk about for the newer stangs but vertical doors inc. made a hinge called zlr doors for the new edge. They were basically mclaren style butterfly doors. Here's the link
I thought they were...different. Not sure if I like them or not

Seems like the hinges might wear out over time.

I just don't think Lamborghini doors or the Mclaren doors just don't flow with the lines of mustangs

those doors only belong on cars that bring them from factory. dont think they should be added to any cars. i had a friend that did it on his charger and they squeaked like crazy and were super annoying to open and close

The cars that have vertical doors do it for clearance rather than style. Although I must say that I do like the doors on the Koenigsegg Agera R better than the Lambo styled doors. Either way, there are better things to spend that money on than vertical/suicide doors.

If you're really interested in doing the install then hit me up. For what it is worth and also IMO I love my doors and everything about them. I've received nothing but positive feedback from thousands of people over the last year. I have yet to run into someone who has criticized or judged me once they saw the vehicle in person. If you search "vertical door install" in this forum you will find my install and related info and questions I answered. I've had zero issues with my doors til this day. Good luck. Don't let a few people's one-sided opinions persuade you. It's your money, not theirs.

The OP did ask for opinions.....most owners don't like over the top stuff on their cars...most owners.

That being said I absolutely despise those doors and all the early 2000s fast and furious crap, but he owns the car and if that's what he wants, then everybody else can stuff it.

OP, just remember that at some point you will sell your car and mods like this are more often than not appreciated by people shopping for a stang...it may cost you a sale or a good bit of money later.

Idk if some of you guys know it, but the design of the doors is not for style. They do look cool, but they did it by design. For this same reason I noticed how it could be beneficial in even my parent's 2003 Corvette, the doors are so long that a regular hinge will make it too hard to get out (which it is, if anyone has parked close to something in a Corvette or other car with long doors). I'll let this video do the talking.

The problem I have is maintaining the doors intact due to my father not being able to bend his knee properly due to a motorcycle accident in which he almost lost his life so thankful to have him alive yet alone riding with me !!!
