2013 GT Garage Door Opener

Hi all. I have a 2013 GT with opener on the visor. Programming went fine and it worked well for a few days. Now, it only opens and closes the garage door when the car is inside the garage. From outside in the driveway (only about 10' from the door) it doesn't work. Anyone experience issues with their opener and have you found a resolution? Suggestions? Thanks!

Mine always works fine

I hit the button as I come around the curve and it opens every time. It is at least 30 feet. I close it as I leave the garage. ( I Back in) so the door is behind me when I leave. My door opener is a GENIE.

Mine only seems to work from inside the garage. What good is that? Lol! The programmable opener in my Chevy truck and the hand held units that came with the door are working fine from a distance.

I've found I have to hold the button down a few seconds sometimes. Mine seems to work fine at distance as long as I am patient and remember to hold the button.

I've held it for several seconds, even played morse code on it, from right next to my garage door to about 80 feet away. Anyone else have trouble like this? Baffling!

Mine works fine from within the garage. From outside I too have to be within 20 feet. My handheld opener will open it from 300 feet. I don't think these have the same power output as the handhelds. My previous car would open it about 200 feet.

Ok. I thought maybe there was a disconnected antenna on my visor buttons or something. Maybe I'll try programming to a different button...

You don't want to hear this but mine works fine from at least 50' away, maybe a little farther. My opener is a Genie also. I will say that my wife's Jeep seems to have a little better range than my Mustang, but only by maybe 20' more or so.

Ha! You're right. Guess I should change this thread to "Anyone with a properly working garage door opener let me know". Lol...

It does sound like you have a problem. Might be worth a dealer visit to check out - your problem would drive me nuts.

Is there a way to delete it and reprogram it?

Code deleted (hold two outer buttons for appx 20 seconds) then reprogrammed. It works inside the garage as it did before. I'll check it from a distance tomorrow...

I followed the instructions in the owner's manual and reprogramming went smoothly. If it stops working again I will call the phone listed in the owners manual or take it to the dealer and update this thread with any additional information.
