2012 Mustang GT Base vs Brembo Package?

I just recently purchased a 2012 GT base with 23k. I actually pick it up tomorrow. In regards to the brembo package is the suspension different/better. If so is it noticeable? I understand it's too late now but is there a significant difference?

My 2013 Brembo package says it includes aggressive suspension tuning. I haven't compared it to a non-Brembo GT though.

I have the 2011 with Brimbo and ive test drove without it. I can see a difference in braking. But i also have the Ford Racing pack so all i know is i pay more for brakes then you do lol. But on my Audi I installed Brimbo and there is a world of a difference.

I have a 2013 and have driven both. The say sport handling tuned on the Brembo. There might be a slight difference in stifness and rougher ride but it isnt much. If I had to do again I would have probably either prung for the whole track pack or just an optional 3:73 rear end instead.

BUT, the brakes are a world of difference

Hey,

Congratulations on you new purchase! You will love it, I have a 2011 GT and fell in love the day I took it home.

To answer your question, the suspensions are identical. The only difference there could be is in the stability/traction control system. If you were to just get the Brembo brake option the stability and traction control systems are identical to the base. However, with Track Pack, that includes the Brembo brakes, you do get the upgraded stability and traction control system. This difference is fairly minor though, and most people would not even notice a difference. As far as the physical suspension components though, the base, the Brembo package, and the Track packs all are identical.

I hope this helps!

If you have any other questions, feel free let me know!

You can build what you want but, I wanted every factory performance option available for 2012 so, BBP had to be part of it. No regrets whatsoever; the brakes alone are worth it.

The suspensions are different. The Brembo option is in between the base and the Boss in springs and bushings. These guys have a breakdown for us lucky Brembo owners...

Fan is wrong on this one. The suspension components interchange but they aren't the same. BBP and TP cars get different rate springs, dampers for the rates and a 24mm rear bar over 22. Plus they get the gt500 style rear lcas . add the above noted recalibration of the traction /stability control and adjustable steering feel, plus the unique to TP Torsen and Boss cooling bits and you have value there.

The more important components are the 3.73 and Brembo calipers. The fact that from factory Mustangs come with a 4x4 height really makes Track Pack a waste of $$ since when u lower to normal height u have to replace springs, dampers, and a lot of other components. As far as brakes, u can find ppl selling their take offs, I got myself some with about 7K of use, and since they're off, I can customize them to look nice it's a win win as far as having a simpler package, since u get to build to your hearts desire... After all isn't that the best part of Mustangs??

Nobody's getting up yer trumpet here. I've built more cars than I can count and this Mustang is the first one Ford has sold me that I don't have build myself in every way. Not minding that at near 50. Small things like shifters still make a big difference on a Mustang so, it retains a little hand in DIY.
