Ideal Launch

I have a 2013 GT Manual. Some mods recently done(see sig) and I have been doing some 0-60 testing with the track apps. I cant get anywhere near the posted figures for the car. Can anyone help me out with ideal launch scenario? I have stabilitrac on, rev to about 2,500rpm and then go, shifting at about 5,800rpm. I cant get under 5 seconds. I do know I need some new tires and my next mods will be suspension but I thought the stock GT is supposed to do 4.5s

I launch at 2300 and I drag the RPMs all the way up.(Dont red line) And try putting the car in sport track mode. (Hold the break and tap the TC twice)

Never knew the sport trac thing. I will try that. Thanks a bunch. Break in and tap twice. Does it say anything on screen to notify you it is on?

You actually have 3 modes.

1 press: Traction control off/ESC still on

Hold brake and press twice: Sport mode (still on but less aggressive)

Hold brake and press for 10 sec: All OFF! This is where you get your best 1/8 and 1/4 times because the ESC does not kick in and apply brakes nor does the TC cut power to the engine. But DO NOT run this way unless you are on a track because you could easily loose control. Read your owners manual and more info online.

according to my track app, i got 4.8 0-60 with just pressing the traction control once, i dont really rev it up, just clutch dump and gas, when ive reved it a bit i spin too much. i have the 3.55 gears, im sure those 4.5 times were with 3.73's. i recently got the mustang so i know i can improve those times

The car is pretty inconsistent with the factory upper in. The axle hop/spin balance is hard to get right. Popping a Roush upper in and I can bang off low 4s all day long on street tires and pavement, a touch over 3 seconds on slicks on a prepared surface.

14's and i think the 13's as well bring a track app that lets you time your 0-60 among other things such as 1/4 mile

Bah, the stock clutch in my 2012 has over 100 clutch drop launches on slicks at 4500-6000 rpm, at a prepared track and still operates like new.

In my experience, tire temp and surface quality are what keeps most from hitting reliable 4's.
My best happened on a day with low humidity, 70ish degrees, on a freshly paved road. I prefer to drop it at 3500 or so - TC & advancetrak off.

Wheel hop is your enemy.

I also agree with 5LHO, you really outta look into LCAs, UCA to nail that *** end to the pavement.

Lose tire pressure to 30psi, launch at lower rpm, mash the gas once she hooks
