Roush Exhaust installed!

Just installed my Roush axleback on my 2014 GT. Sounds like heaven!

I just went the opposite way. I took off my Roush AB and installed the GT500 AB. I love how the Roush sounds but it's loudness was starting to get on my nerves. I just turned 47 and I guess wanting to have a loud exhaust is starting to wear off. I'm keeping the Roush system just in case I decide the GT 500 AB is too tame. Enjoy yours.

Or you could sell it to me lol just saying I can't justify dropping 500 bucks on exhaust lol

I've been looking at the Roush vs the GT500 and think I've decided on the 500s. If you don't mind, where did you purchase them and for how much.

I purchased mine from a guy on another Mustang forum for $246 shipped. They were brand new but one tip had a slight dent on the edge and some real light scratches. Neither really that noticeable, especially for the price. Most places that I've seen them for sale have them for $319 shipped. I think that is the price at latemodelrestoration.com and americanmuscle.com

Sounds great! Love mine as well!! I had looked at the gt500 axle backs and those things are wayyyyyyyyyyy too quiet (I've heard them on another 5.0). I know if I would have bought them I would have had buyers remorse and regretted it big time. The roush axle backs are perfect, they are quiet when you want them and loud when you put your foot down. When cruising at 80 there is no drone it sounds stock.

Don't get me wrong, I love the sound of the Roush but to me after awhile, it got old. There seemed to be a lot of times lately that I wanted the exhaust to be quieter. Mine were pretty loud at around 2,000 rpms and are a lot louder at cruising speed than both the stock exhaust and the GT500 exhaust.

Congrats on the new axlebacks, Soul! As for me, the stock exhaust is way too mild. Still undecided on Roush or GT500s.

Honestly I don't think you can go wrong with any exhaust on a 5.0 lol. They all sound awesome!

I have the Roush too, it is pefect imo. No drone and at cruising speed it sounds pretty docile, but at wot it sounds great. Although if you're going to do an o/r pipe later, the gt500's might be a better option. It is ungodly loud with an o/r pipe and any sort of throttle.

The other reason I switched out to the GT500 is that the Roush system would wake up my fiancée when I would leave for work at 5:15am and she would be pissed. The GT500 is not as loud on startup as the Roush was. After driving the car with the GT500 on it for a couple of days now, I'm still undecided if I want it to be louder. So far, my GT500 AB seems quieter than video's I've watched on youtube but they may get louder as time goes on.

The roush is definitely super loud on a cold start. It doesn't cause any issues for me now, but something to be aware of, but for now I like it!
