Yeah, I don't like the Chinese stuff (their food is good though). I'll check it out on Jeg's or Summit sometime. Does ARP make them?

Heres an easy way to settle it. If the 5.0 stock box is so great then the gt500 would use it, right? What do they use?
Notice its a conical filter, not a panel filter like the 5.0. This is a 2010 gt500 too, not even a 13. Panel filters can only flow so much.

Grabber, you are going to make me break out the Thermo Anemometer and prove you wrong. I can create a bench test that will prove that a JLT type CAI is less restrictive than a stock CAI. If we agree that restrictions of flow, volume & mass of air have a direct impact on HP for a engine. Here is how to set up that bench test.

Use a electronically controlled fan pull air through an orifice at a given ambient temp. Say 85mm & 90mm orifices for comparison of throttle bodies. Using a thermo anemometer, measure the temp and the flow in CFM just down stream of the orifice with no intake.
Record the Temp / CFM
Hook up a stock CAI to the orifice and record Temp / CFM
Hook up a JLT or other CAI to the orifice and record Temp / CFM
This will give you an idea of the fluid dynamics to compare the two Cold Air Intakes
The most "efficient" CAI will be the numbers closer to the first test which WILL yield more HP
There are SO many variables that would make your gains greater or lesser that it is ridicules to boast that "you will gain 20hp from adding this CAI" You are correct in business's skewing data to sell their products, however, don't dispute a fact that if you increase the ability of air to move more freely and at a greater volume it will create more HP.
