Washing the car to much

So to start I wash my car twice a week. Now yes that may seem like a lot but here me out. I live on the ocean an I have a lot of salt that gets on the car. Normally I would keep it in the garage but it's full with my vette an project car. I also get a lot of pollen in the area. I keep a good coat of wax on the car as well. My question is can you wash the car to much. Don't take into account my OCD to have a clean car.

Me too. Every Friday or Saturday I take to get it washed cause I can never dry the top right without making it look nasty. A friend back on high school told me that you can make your paint dull from washing it too much

You can dull the paint with over washing. I know this because I work at a carwash and our members who wash their car every 2 days or so are literally washing the clear coat off. They also don't wax their car. If you are waxing it frequently then you are fine.

You could always use something like meguiars quick detailer in between washes if it's not super dirty. I don't have a set schedule on when to wash, I wash it when it needs it and use the meguiars in between.

As long as you are using a quality soap, hand washing, and gently using microfibers, you won't go through your clear. And obviously, wax it periodically.

Your car wash sucks. Lol

I assume it is a mechanical car wash with spinning brushes? That is why your co-workers car finishes are garbage.

No brushes. I still wash my car in the driveway though.

As long as you have the correct washing technique you should be fine. I'm referring to the 2 bucket method. If you don't, each time you wash, you are susceptible to swirling/marring the clear coat.
