Vinyl racing stripes cost

I was looking into getting 12 inch racing stripes, bumper to bumper. Called a shop and was quoted $950-1250!! Is that crazy? How much would this job cost?

Lmao! are you serious? keep looking i would say if the good vinyl 5-7 year durability is used you should pay max 300-400 but if you want to use standard vinyl you can find some as low as 100-200 installed.

You could always just buy the stripes online and self install.

Keeping in mind that the prices vary if the people have the color in stock other wise they will most likely have to charge you to special order it.

Little extra tip: if you can, find the mexican shops, they will use the same vinyl as the more expensive shops but at lower prices.

Seriously! I thought that was outrageous! I'll definitely keep looking. Thanks for the advice.

Can I get these stripes??

I really would like this set up from my car. Only difference is I have a ram air hood.
Does anyone know of anyone who already makes these stripes. I got it off the Mustang Customizer on the Ford page. I have seen all the other stripes on the customizer sold pre-made, but of course not the one one I like. Also ..Yes I want them deep purple.

Local Graphics shops can make any stripes you dream up. That is who I last used. Check around in auto graphics directory in your town, the internet version of the yellow pages. they are the ones that do the stripes when your dealer says $425 for any kind you want. They print them and cut them on Vinyl cutters.

Many good shops make their bread & butter money doing the fire and police graphics as well.

After seeing your attached pictures, the price they gave you is actually fairly accurate, those aren't really considered stripes they're more of custom work lol. And the side scoops and the rear bumper will require vinyl wrapping so... bad news lol you'll most likely end up spending a lot more than if you got actual stripes.

Hi BullDog, did the OP post any pictures for the huge $950-$1250 quote? I don't see any. The only attached pics I see are form custom artwork for a different poster. The OP was asking about 12" racing strips, the kind very common.

I had mine painted on for $1200. And he basically repainted all flat surfaces that stripes touched so that there was no ridges from one color to the other Click image for larger version

1200.00 for paint sounds reasonable but not for vinyl.

I want this so bad! I called them and they said grapics express did them and gave me the number to see if they could do the same for me. This car "gotta have it race" is for sale for $29,000 by the way. Could any graphics shop look at this pic and make this for me?

Getting ill....

Ok ,I live in a smaller town, I got tired of tring to keep the money local, so I called the next large town and then Nashville ( 80 miles away).
Most of the time I here from body shops, It will be cheaper if you get Vinyl.
then Vinyl shops say cheaper to get them painted..
The second one is send them pics and when I check back I hear i get back to you.

Boy it stinks... Trying to keep my money saved for the car before wife or kids hold out the hands cause they know I have the cash..
