Car running really rich

I put a turbo on my 13 gt this past weekend, hellion single kit, comp 74mm turbo, 47lb injectors, and a vortech non programable bap. When dataloging the wot portion of the tune, I'll start in 4th gear and get on it the car spits and sputters before trying to go my afr drops to 10.0 if not lower, and I put out a black cloud of soot. Any ideas other than tune? Maybe like the bap is giving to much fuel? I upgraded the plugs gaped all around .025

One- Who had you gap them at 0.25?

Yes you are sucking to much fuel. Does the vortech BAP have a knob on it? Like the kenne bell one. If so what is it set at?

The hellion directions, and BBR said that gap. No knob just wire and done

I thought it was tight as well. The kit actually said .020 but that is just too small.

I get what you're saying but I think what he meant was between .020 and .20 is a really big gap. Gaps are .0xx. I'm sure that's all he was saying.

I think he's referring to how you keep leaving out a 0 there bud. It's .025 and you keep saying .25 That's a huge difference and would cause misfire.

You mean like how people don't know how spark gap works.
I thought maybe it was just a typo, but you did it 3 more times.

Did you get one of the newer kits with the larger downpipe and wastegate? They changed all of that on the newer kits to solve all the backpressure problems.

I'm not really sure if it's newer or not, I disconnected the bap and it runs 1000 times better. My tuner must not have compensated for that. Although its still at 10.0 but I'll be able to data log now

Even if its a older kit you will be more than fine up to 12 psi or so. 14 and thr backpressure gets bad on the old kits. What size is your wastegate?

I have had personal exp with the single hellion.
7 psi- 547hp. 67mm- stock motor poped
12 psi- built motor. 610hp 67mm - oil scavenger pump went out. Trashed turbo

14- psi. Another built motor. 78mm comp. 640hp. Lifted head and destroyed block. Due to backpressure.

Easy check...

Pull a plug and look at it..
I had an 2005 that I thought ran rich. Of course the shop kept telling , aww no its not..
Guess what.. they were foul... of course the plugs were also the poor 3 piece design. They had to take the heads off to get them out. I tired to get them out myself and felt it give on two of them..

Now I know why they didn't want to do it under warrenty.. I raised Holy Heck and showed them the paperwork from before. I only had to pay a third of the bill, that was better than nothing.. I dont go there anymore either.

Guess my point is dont wait to long to make sure your not running rich. It can clog up the Cats too. <--- another long story..

Follow up..

Sorry,
I didnt know. I re-read the above comments and never saw he removed them.
I take it no backflow issues then??
I'm not a turbo expert, just a car guy.. I used to mess with Old muscle, and left the original 4.6's alone when I heard they were tempermental..
