looking to get 14 5.0

I have decided to sell my 2000 gt to my dad but first I'm looking for another car. I test drove a 2014 5.0 yesterday premium brembo package 6speed, and I am in love with the 14 it is night and day difference from my 2000 kind of love hate thou. the steering is so smooth and awesome but the clutch pedal seems way to soft for me. I did do some searching and people have been taking some kind of helper spring out to stiffen it up( I like a stiff pedal). the brembos were awesome but Ive heard they really aren't worth it. Im in to the twistys and autocross are they still worth it over the stock brakes with a pad upgrade?

Now the big question is the prices. I was there just to test drive wasnt looking for buying just yet maybe next couple months( have a couple loans that will be payed off next month and raises at work and some more thinking too). So I didn't do any negotiating with him but they were trying and just kept writing down numbers to get me in one. sticker price was 39000 and they gave me a 31000 out the door. brand new 2014 I gave no counter offer just told them I'll think about it and get back to them. How good of a deal is this? what did ya'll pay for yours and talk them down?

thanks for ya'lls help

That sounds like a pretty good deal. I bought my base model 14 GT with the only option being the automatic tranny back in August of 13 for $28,400 and that included the $2,000 Ford rebate.

31k out the door would be about 28.5 pre taxes and fees. So not bad for brand new. For autox the stock brakes would probably ok as you're not going to hammer them too bad. I did some with mine, 6 runs in a row and I had no brake fade (45 sec laps). Road racing could definitely use the brembo's though.

2014 Mustang

That is a good price but Im with the guys, the Brembo I dont think its worth it. Try getting into a different one with some different upgrades, unless you like the wheels and brakes on that one. I decided to go with a GT/CS instead of the Brembo 5.0.....

Get the racaro's and the brembo's. If you don't you will spend thousands buying them later; like me. :/

Forget just the Performance advantage of the Brembos vs the stock calipers.

The APPEARANCE is miles above those Fat, Ugly, Ford calipers that look like someone glued 2 steel cereal bowls together, then cut them in half

The Brembos are worth it just for that reason alone

Sup bro! Ha ha your description is pretty much on point, BUT since I don't really speed and do fast acceleration, I found the CS was worth more to me than just kick a** brakes and nice wheels. But I do like them just happy with my choice. Plus Ill be ready for the 2017 in 2 years....

Ford is trying to get the 2014 Mustangs off dealer lots to make room for the 50th anniversary 2015 Mustang. Now is the time to buy. I got about $5400 off sticker with a 1.9% finance rate on my 2014 GT with the FP8 Appearance package. $3000 of that was rebate from Ford.

I didn't wait because I knew it wouldn't be around at the end of the year when my other car would have been paid off. I'm pretty sure there won't be any deals on the 2015 Mustang GT.

That depends on how much you bought it for, and what your sales tax rate is. I was estimating around 7%.

I would jump on that if I was really wanting a 14GT. That's a great price for a premium out the door. It wont be there long, cause everyone else is thinking alike, "well, they will want to get the 15's in so I know I can get a good deal", and the 14's will be gone. Good luck man.

I have the brembos on my 2014 and let me tell you they are worth it... they last longer, no fade, and aster way stronger, as for the clutch pedal trust me it will get harder as you use it and also that's some Bull**** price man... I paid 42K for premium gt with every upgrade package, the packages alone were like 8 grand.. So get it now.. Don't wait

SiMaverick72,
I can tell you and show you what you can do to get your clutch feeling and performing better by removing the POS "clutch assist" spring. All you need is a pair of needle nose vise grip pliers and about 1 minute of your time. It pops in our out in seconds. So easy to do and it makes your clutch feel like a better clutch plus it will help eliminate the clutch sucking down during WOT pulls. This is the best video showing how to remove the clutch assist spring.

I may need to try that clutch assist spring removal. What are the benefits of doing this? Heavier pedal?

I just bought a 2014 GT Premium last week. The standard rebate is $3k, but there is $4k on the Premium models. I also used the $750 brochure coupon and spent just a bit over $29k on a $36k+ car.

Well I got one saturday found a white 14 premium gt with the track pak. And the dealer wanted my stang bad so traded it in and got a good deal. Ill post some pics tonight. Put 190 of the first miles ever on the car past couple days and its absolutely amazing. And I might try pulling the clutch helper spring this weekend. I just haven't learned the sweet spot of the clutch to make it smooth every shift. And that might just help to have a heavier pedal.

I bought my 2014 GT premium with an Advertised price of $30,995. Fully loaded, track package, Navi, Brembos, just without the Recaros. When I bought it, it had 1k miles on it. I think you are getting a good deal.

Anyways yeah that deal of yours is an amazing deal! just start signing stuff. you will not regret it in any way shape or form. I've had mine now for 10 days and its only getting better and better.
