Borla S-Type Vs Roush Axle Backs

Hey I thought I wanted the Roush until I heard these S-types (youtube) those of you who have them how do you like them? I am looking for that muscle car rumble without being obnoxiously loud. Thanks.

Thanks for the replies. I just ordered the Borlas from autoanything.com for $640 shipped. They had them on sale plus a 5% promo. Only downside is they are not scheduled to ship until 3/28. I can't wait to get these on the Stang.

I had the Roush AB on my 14 GT for about six months. It is a great sounding exhaust and I got a lot of compliments on it but the cold start up was very loud and pissing my fiancée off when I left for work at 5:15am. It also was starting to get on my nerves sometimes after work when all I wanted was quiet inside.

I had mixed feelings about taking them off but I got a good deal on a pair of new GT500 mufflers and the reviews on them were mostly positive so I figured I would try them out. I've had them on for a couple of weeks now and really like them. I could probably stand to have them slightly louder but they seem to have already gotten louder since the install. I'm keeping the Roush setup just in case.

As for the Borla S-type AB, I have only heard these on YT so I can't give you any good advice there other than I think they sound pretty good from the video's I've listened to. I also have a Borla Cat-back on my 98 chevy truck and had one on my 2004 Monte Carlo SS and I can tell you they make quality stuff.

Just bought a set of lightly used Borla touring axle backs for a steal on eBay ($345), I want to hear some rumble but don't want loud. (Unless I'm nailing it). By all accounts these should deliver what I want

Decent buy. Especially for that price. Rode in a GT the other day that has those on. Barely a drone but loud muscle punching it down the street winding it out. Want to get some myself. Thinking about the pypes AB though.

I have the S types. Love the exhaust, never plan on changing them. Plus of you went the Roush way they sound bad when you start messing with the mid pipes.

Hi Ford-302, what I don't understand is why they have two separate part numbers for the 2011-2013 GT?

11789- says 2.75" head pipe and 2.75" tail pipe
11837- says simply 2.75" pipe

why two different types? which did you pick? They are $670 today.

Borla S-Type Vs Roush Axle Backs

They changed the length of the exhaust tip for the 13-14 because the 10-12 model sticks out really far if you put them on the 13-14's.

Thanks, but it really doesn't tell a noob like me which is which? My guess would be the higher part number for the 13/14s ?

11837. I saved my car to their site and this is what came up. I then checked the actual Borla site. These are for 13-14 GTs.
