OPINION: What kind of wheels should I get?

What's up guys, I have a race red 5.0 with a pair of 12" racing stripes, two hash marks, and all tinted lights. All stripes are matte black. I'm thinking black or matted rims but I'd like suggestions. Thanks.

I like the charcoal RTR rims(currently have them on the car,275's on all 4) the 2013 GT500's, and the Boss Laguna Seca rims.

Just got my sve drifts installed yesterday with 275's all around. I have seen them on mustangs of just about every color and they look good. Seem to be a really good wheel for the price.

I do like the RTR ones. They're pretty sick. And they aren't that costly. If I up in wheel size, what do I do to fix speedometer difference?

You will need a speedometer recalibration

I thought so. Had to do that on my truck, we used the tuner to do it.

I say pick a wheel that isn't the same as every other Mustang out there. I'm getting TSW's.

This is a pic I took before I left the shop real quick. The speedo calibration can be done at the dealership depending on how large the difference is. They just told me to bring it in and if the range is within the factory computer then they can do it.

Those wheels look great! Do you think I should go natural or matte?

Tanaka. They're rotary forged, only weigh 18 pounds each I believe.

Thanks. With the red and accents I personally would go with a matte finish, but it's really all about what you want. There are other nice wheels out there for sure, so it all depends on your budget too. I really liked the forgestars but they just weren't in my range.

Yeah the forge stars are a little higher yet the RTR shows the same definition. Here's before and after the hashes Click image for larger version

Yeah, if it were me with the vinyl accents I would go with a matte wheel to match. Plastidipping your hood vents would like pretty awesome as well

If you're spending the money and buying brand new wheels I would recommend going with the finish you want up front. I had my fp8 wheels dipped before I got the sve's and just didn't like the way it held up, but that's just me.

Nice car man. I added all my accents alone with hash marks to bring it out.

A set of the new MMD Matte Black wheels would be sweet! They've just recently been released, so there's not many guys out there running them. I'm not sure if this is something you may be interested in or not, but figured I'd post up a link.

Good luck with your search!

Thanks! I really like those, and they aren't too high. I'd love to see them on a car.

Really love the Foose Outcast Matte Black wheels on AM. Can't afford that high though so I am going with the AMR Black. Those would look sick as hell on a red with matte striping if you can swing them. Then RED calipers!!

Would you mind posting some pics of your rode with the RTR wheels? I'm real close to purchasing them. Pros, cons?

This is the only picture I have of it with the rims so far, I'm surprised I haven't taken more.

Pro's: charcoal color looks great, great design, and comes with 275's on all 4.

Cons: my package was badly shipped, a center cap was slightly dented, scratch on a rim, broken center cap, and the adapter key broke. I haven't had time to call AM about it, but I don't think they would to anything about it since it's been a few weeks.

Wow, that sucks man. AM has great customer service. Im sure they could at least do something to try to make it right. Since I went with the drifts I havent gotten wheels from them, but all my other experiences have been great. Ive seen where other people on the forum have voiced issues and AM always responds to try to make it right.

It takes two seconds to email them if you can't call (which doesn't take long either).

I literally have no time, wake up for school, go, then golf practice, then dinner, then homework, shower, and back to bed.

I PM'ed dan, he said to ask CS, which I just haven't had any time to do. None of the problems are all that noticeable to probably anyone but me, except or maybe the broke center cap. I will probably need to use the adapter key though, which I can't do without risk of scratching now.

You're posting here right now. Take a couple minutes and shoot them an e-mail or PM. Then, at least, you tried.

Ok, I have maybe 10-30 minutes, not consecutive either. I'll probably do it Wednesday, I don't have practice then, so that's a few hours free.

Prioritize your time. Get up 5 minutes earlier in the morning and shoot over an email. That's all it takes.
