I hear people like doing engine swaps from 13-14s into 11-12s because it's worth the HP gain

Maybe he drove an 11 with really high gears and a 13 with low gears. Even if there was the 8 hp difference, you would never be able to tell it. I think the torque is the same and that is what you "feel" anyway. I have a 13 and I am sure it is no faster than an 11 with the same gears and setup. I kinda wish my lower body parts weren't painted but I don't think they look cheap.

I've driven a couple 11-12 and 3 13s. No difference in power at all from what I Could tell.

Check out @dillonshand on Instagram. He has the 13 tail lights on his 2011 sixer. He has a great looking and sounding sixer also.

Here is what I got today, just out of a (long) Dyno session, to optimise my programmer setting. Best setting with hypertech is premium fuel and 'air aid without insert', taking for granted that I already have BBK 90 mm TB and Borla atack.

power : 404 HP @ 6475 rpm, peak is flat until the end of the curve at 6763 RPM
torque : 401 pi-lbf @ 4375 rpm.

This is with a very thin error margin of error (roughly one, sometimes two HP no more along the whole curve) if your compare all 3 tests for each setting.

I had guessed 470 motor HP over the stock 412. I probably have that, or even more !!!!

Hard to imagine it would take too long with a Hypertech programmer. There's so little in terms of what you can adjust there. Nonetheless, a very healthy result. Go to dragstrip.

Tried different settings, and had to let the car ajust between settings/reprogramming. I was too rich. Got decent ratio at last, still a little too rich but OK.

Drag strip is next - will do that soon, as my targetted uprade package is fully operational now.

I had an HT on my last car, I liked it. However, it didn't have any capability to adjust things. It was a pure canned tune. Has this changed?

no, it has not changed. You choose settings, but it is canned programming, with options. I just confirmed that it works for me

Kewl. I ran it on my Mazdaspeed 3 as it was a cost effective choice on a stock-ish car. Then the car became radically unstock and I pushed that tune so hard, far beyond it's design limits. It was wickedly good but, eventually I butted heads with the small stock turbo, which no tune was going to fix.

Oh an btw, on the thread topic, kinda, there's a guy on another forum swapping a 427 carburetted Windsor stroker into his 2011 S197....
