And your GT isn't a 662bhp GT500. Get over yourself already.

I swear some of you 5.0 guys sound like the local ricers in my area that think there car is perfect and Gods gift to mankind. While there amazing cars (nobody is denying that) I dont see why its so hard to see there the v6 has certain attributes that actually make it a better car for some purposes then the 5.0 and the reason why people buy them isn't always because they couldn't afford a 5.0 (although for some people I'm sure that is true). Part of what makes this hobby great is that not everybody has the same tastes and enjoys different cars, how boring would it be if EVERYONE had the EXACT same car and did the exact same mods.

And I've been on both sides of this. Back when I had my LS1 Trans Am I knew a guy who had a V6 model that had a custom turbo kit and a few other goodies. Slightly faster then a stock LS1 but still I didnt go up to him and talk crap to him all the time. He was doing what he wanted and it was a clean car that he enjoyed so while its not something I would personally buy/build I could respect it.

GT < you had extra cash to spend on something fun to drive and enjoy non stop trips to the gas station

V6 < Couldn't afford a GT (nothing wrong with that), much less gas station trips, can still have fun but slower than a GT.

IMO both are nice, but at the end of they day GT triumphs. A V6 can be just as good but you have to spend so much more to make it faster when you could just save up and get a GT for less than whatever you'd drop in you're sixxer, just my 2 cents.

I don't know why so many people think others purchase a V6 because they can't afford a GT. I'm sure this is the case sometimes, but not always. Nothing like painting everyone with a broad stroke.

see edit. btw my case for not getting a GT was because i couldn't afford one, which seems to be the case for most v6 drivers not all like you said, its whatever though, nothing wrong with a 6. All i know is that i'm saving up for a new 5.0

I still think some people dont get it. When I buy a car I look at the overall package and weigh everything into consideration. And get the overall best package that meets my needs. I would rather buy a 305 HP car that gets better gas mileage, is cheaper, etc and occasionally use 80% of the cars capability then buy a 420 HP car that gets worse gas mileage, more expensive (essentially same car minus engine), etc and occasionally use 60% of the cars capability for no other reason then to be able to say "Hey I have a GT with 420 HP". And I know most of the GT guys are going to say "I drive my car to its full potential" but the fact is HP sells cars and 90% of the people who actually buy them can't drive them to there limits. A few years ago I knew a driving instructor at VIR and he was telling me that he could take a 160 HP 1997 V6 mustang on the track and literally run circles around corvettes, vipers, cobras, etc that have 3-4 times the power simple due to him having the ability and knowledge to drive the car.

And not to bash GT owners, like a few others have said they bought it for there reasons and are happy with it (sound, etc). At the end of the day everyone bought what best met those needs but it always doesn't come down to "I couldn't afford a great 5.0".

like i said both are good, but the GT is faster, never said the v6 was slow, compared to a GT yes but compared to most cars on the road not a chance, the v6 is still pretty quick.

At the end of the day, its all about what you want and how you can drive it.

I went with a base 5.0 because for some reason geico quoted me higher insurance on a v6 model. If it wasn't for that I would've gladly bought a fully loaded v6 coupe(possibly semi loaded v6 vert)

I've only used all the v8 power maybe 10 times since I bought it in July

Dude chill out
did ya notice the WINK WINK ? at the end of the comment
It was sarcasm, The stripes threw me off then i rebutted with some BASIC Comedy

Calling you a poser then adding Wink Wink is Comedy
NOT Fighting . Grow up man. Don't take everything so serious

When the 2015's come out weighting 300 lbs less
and putting out 500HP. ill be ragging on 420 Hp GT owners too.
its all in fun

My 1972 440 CUDA 6 pak that i show and drive to meets will DESTROY
my GT. ~~~~ and personally a much Cooler and Badder *** looking car

So this whole Bonding and dissing crap on Ford Mustangs means nothing to me
I bought my GT to drive to work with the air on, something my Cuda dosent have

You dont hear me complaining about V6 owners telling me i made a bad decision as a DD car. I dont care. Neither should you.

Btw, Nice Stripes *

Damnit...

"Then" and "than"...

Use:
Then - when you are denoting succession in a series of steps or instructions.
Example: Like turn right at the next light THEN turn into the first street on the left.

Than - when you want to use comparison or want to distinguish between two or more things or situations.
Example: I like the fast cars more THAN slow cars.

Sorry for my OCDness just seems like 80% of posts I see now use the wrong then/than lol
