GT Track Key Available

I've been checking the site every now and then, and it looks like the key is finally up for sale (plus the software to go with it). Has anyone pulled the trigger on this yet?

I do see that if you have a '13 they have a Procal tuner that does the same thing as the track key and is not the same as the old Procal tune. It makes it sound like you can use the display on the instrument cluster to select the track key mode or something.

Awesome ! So Glad I got a manual, and that they offer it as a ProCal upgrade since I don't have a dual path ECM. This is the part I must have as I have a 7/100K bumper to bumper.

Only if Ford installs it.

yes, but that's no big deal.

Edit: But it does have a deal killer for me. I have a 7/100K B-to-B warranty. Use of this product replaces the original factory warranty for engine, drive-train, and suspension for a warranty of only 3/36K from the original date of purchase of the car. So this kisses goodbye any engine failure coverages triggered by use of a track product that have been due to the "causal" part past 36K or 3 years of car purchase date.

Cams and fingers ticking at 39K? Well you probably were racing on a track being you got track key installed...I can hear it know....

I'm Sorta bummed ;(

I have an early 14 so the procal is my only option too, but reading more it looks like there is no way to have both (which kind of defeats the purpose). You have to basically tune your car with the procal and have the "track key" tune permanently installed until you have it flashed back or man-up and go for an aftermarket tune.

No need to MAN UP, I have had other mustangs I have tuned. But this last Purchase has to last for 10 years. If you have a trust fund, U go Man UP.

I will keep my 7/100k Be-To-Be warranty until then...As I don't want to have to eat Soylent green or mac n' cheese based on my Car's Tunes...

No offense meant, I like my warranty as well. I was just getting at I don't have the key option so basically its just another "safer" tune until you get to the next level

What if you could have two separate aftermarket tunes.....key activated..........

Yes, Drew is legit. He is on BMO as well. That thread has been around for a while.
Precisely why we are gong to try to flash the PCM to a dual path with the software and then see if we can override the RedKey tune with an aftermarket tune. Idea would be to have a 91 performance tune on the black key and a 93 race tune on the red. (what Ford should have done in the first place)

Will other companies, such as bama, be able to possibly reverse engineer this and take some good qualities like the launch control, and add it to their tunes?

I am wondering this also. After reading more on it, and not being tuned yet I am leaning more to the track cal.

track key

My 2014 build date is 10/13 just not sure I will try it yet seems like a Ford "ghost cam" tune with a small increase in HP/TQ. I think I will wait to see some opinions from folks who do it.

Just got the track key installed on my car. I love it. The idle alone is worth it. I had it installed this afternoon. Ill have some more updates once I've driven it for a little while.

Sounds nice! I'm getting mine installed on Wednesday. How long did it take the dealer to do the install?

I had an oil change done and track key installed and it took about three hours. I wasn't waiting on it so there was no hurry to get it done.

You definitely won't regret it. When you are sitting at a light and the car is rocking back and forth like crazy because of the lopey idle. It will put a smile on your face!

The shop will most likely charge you an hour labor rate to do it. That's what Ford recommends for time in the instructions. My car is a base GT. The only requirements are that it has to be built after 7/1/2013, 5.0, and a manual.
