3:55 Gears Installation?

I was just wondering has anyone installed their own gears before? I was looking for sort of a walk through of doing it. I just ordered some gears and was thinking of installing them myself. Lemme know guys!!!

I have a feeling people are going to tell you if you have never done it before and aren't experienced in gear installs, don't attempt. Giving you a walk through would be like giving a haircut over the phone.

Your going to need some specific tools. If your not in the trade, I wouldn't. Setting up gears is not a job for a novice. Sometimes spending money wisely is a good thing. My 3.55 gears made the car just right.

If you have to ask how then you shouldn't be doing the job yourself. Take it to a pro.

Don't do it if you do not have the experience. A wrong gear install can destroy your gears.

I did it, but had a buddy help me. It was fun and yes I'd Do it again. I did buy about $300 in tools including a hydraulic press, and rented another $300 in tools from autozone (got that back when I returned them) Not for the faint of heart, and the pieces dont come out as easily as the guys in the youtube videos make it seem!

Thanks for the feed back guys but I have two of my friends that are mechanics and have done gear swaps before that will be assisting me. I'm sure it won't be a hassle but I was just looking for a walk through of it just for an idea.

What gears do you have now where you feel the need to swap to 3:55's?

Going from 3:31's to 3:55's isn't going to help very much.

I had 3.31's swapped to 4.10's and more than likely will be swapping to 3.15's
