14 GT - 6 Speed Cup Holders

As I'm sure others with a 6 Speed have noticed. The cup holders are in a very inconvenient position while trying to shift. Has anyone found an aftermarket solution to this?

Thanks.

I don't have any problems as long as I use the rear cup holder. However, the front is useless.

Smaller drinks are fine. However if you have a large. You're screwed. I know there are universal cup holding solutions. Was hoping there were a couple that worked well with the 14's interior.

I don't use mine. Only drink I ever have in my car is bottled water. And I sit it in the passenger seat.

someone posted some cupholders that go in the floor and slip behind the bottom of the console between it and the carpet. They were like almost $50 for 2 and your drink is in the floor. Looked like they would work though.

No drink unless they have a screw top and even then I don't use the cup holder.

This is what I use - keep the drinks out of the way. I think I bought a set of E39 2 years ago and they work great.

BMW Cup Holders, Porsche Cup Holders, Ultimate Cup Holder - Cupholders / Drink Holders for BMW 3 5 7 Series, Boxster 911 Z4 Mercedes Audi NSX other fine cars.

I like this solution. I'll have to give it a try. Thanks!

Trade in your manual and buy a automatic. Problem solved.

Why have a Mustang with some many horses and have an automatic?? Doesnt make sense if you ask me. ONLY reason I had an 06 GT in automatic is because of my wife!! This time, she had NO say so. She either learns how to drive a manual or she doesnt get to drive the car!! ha ha ha

Automatics are I guess cool if you drive alot in highway (traffic) cuz lets be honest here....a 5.0 in automatic is no F***** slouch!!!!

I'm doing a auto swap as soon as my mt-82 gives up. My new setup should yield 900tq + so that plus 5000rpm clutch drops should send her into pieces later this year.

I wish I would have got a auto to begin with

For drag racing. The auto is the way to go. However for a street toy. Manual all the way.

Both configurations have their benefits.

Yea that sounds like a beast of a car with a bottle hooked up! Im just about to put a Roush exhaust and an intake...any suggestions? I think Im pretty sure I like the Roush exhaust but as far as an intake, I thought about a K&N but again still undecided on that. I like the K&N or the BBK. Just dont want to have to program it or tune it.

If you want a CAI that does not require a tune. Get the airraid. It also has a insert inside it that can be removed later on for when you decide to tune it.

I used..

I bought one of those Cup holders from Walmart that goes between the Pass seat the the console. I put some felt strips on it to keep from scratching the plastic.
I does take up Pass seat space, but .. what ever.. LOL

You can take out the insert later on if you want to tune it. But with the insert in, a tune is not required
