California Special LED bulbs for the fog lights

Hey guys so I hate the stock halogen bulbs in the fog light assembly but I do not want to get a HID kit, just want to get some bulbs and change them out. Does anyone know what size they are and also has anyone done it to theres?? If so please get back to me and not looking for exact match to the HID headlights, just something nice not ugly yellow!

I tried to use H11 LEDs and they just didn't look right, kinda ricey. Plus they barely emitted any decent light, neither did the stock CS foglights bulbs. I didn't have much of a choice and decided on getting real HIDs and only paid like $50 shipped from DDM tuning. I got the 35W kit so I won't have to worry about melting the housing, they work just right and actually light up the road a bit. I got the 4500k kit, hoping that it'll match up with the stock HIDs, I also ordered 4500k bulbs to replace my stock HIDs, cuz I'm a bit OCD like that. Click image for larger version

Oh ok cool, I will look into that.... just really didnt want to do a HID kit, just wanted to swap out the bulb..... I tried looking under Raxiom but had no luck! Your car looks nice with those LED's totally different from the ugly yellow the halogen gives off!! Why Ford did this still blows my mind!

I would go for HID but I gotta mount the ballast somewhere and wire stuff up.

I kinda like the LED replacement bulbs because they are basically plug in replacements.

Yea thats what I want to do, just the bulbs.... I dont want to deal with all that ballast and wire setting up... Primarily because I just bought it and dont want to void warranty or anything like that.

That's HID, LED looked dim and ricey and a whiter halogen costs as much as HID, so I just went that route and it came out very nice, now I have to change the upper HID bulbs since since the factory 4300 looks yellow in comparison Click image for larger version

4500k HIDs, that's the lowest I could find. Factory HIDs suck, I'm changing them this week

The 2013-14s look white enough for me. I am just trying to match the fogs with them and I'm really not a fan of the bluer look of the higher temp HIDs

Do you have a pic of LEDs installed? If not I'm sure someone else on the forum has em installed.

I'm not a fan of bluer either, that's just in comparison. I really wanted to find 4300k HIDs to match the stock headlights, but no luck. Of course my OCD kicks in and I have to make them match at least 99% -_-

I just ordered the H11 LED, 15 x Samsung 2323 SMDs from DDM, but I am not sure if it is the one I need.
Do you know if it fits the GT/CS 2014?

If it's CS style lights it's should fit, but if u expect some light output out of those, u will be dissappointed. I tried the H11 from http://www.vleds.com/ and I wasn't happy at all. Even with the H11 HIDs, I barely get any noticable light output, but I think it's the best choice

Yea I have been reading that the LED bulbs are not all that, especially with the light output. Really all Im looking for is a nicer bulb, NON YELLOWISH...... but doesnt have to match exactly to my HIDs.... I think the only way to achieve that is if you actually do run the HID kit ballast and all, which I will not do. Let me know how that LED bulb turns out for you Riko!!

GTstyles, VLEDs are suppose to be the best, thanks for letting us know they suck! ha ha ha They are also pretty pricey!

I'm not gonna say they suck, what sucks are the CS projectors, the light output is terrible. Maybe because it's a projector that's down low, maybe they're great on a light housing with a clearer open looking assembly. I guess I got used to those GT fogs that are placed up high, that's what came stock for me , then I converted to the CS cuz I like the look and wanted to match the factory HID projectors

California Special owners!!!?

So ok I still cant seem to find the exact color or kit I need to match my HID headlights. Can anyone help me that has done it already? I dont really want to run a kit with a ballast and all but if thats the only way, then I will do it. Id rather go with a bulb but still need to do something about it. Thanks y'all!!

I tried the hardest I could to try to match the 4200k factory color. No success, success, I've only seen 4500k aftermarket. I eventually had to change the factory HIDs to 4500k for it to match Click image for larger version

Yea the stock HIDs look kinda yellow, but these new 4500k, while nice and crisp white w/ a hint of blue... They're not quite as bright as stock. They're also 35w which is same as stock

So to answer the question, what did you do to your fogs? HID kit right? I dont want to mess with stock bulb either on my regular lights, just fog. Get at me when you can!

Yes they are 4500k HIDs, I was in the same boat ur in, HIDs was the last thing on my mind. I tried the H11 LEDs and just didn't like it, I felt it cheapened the car, maybe since the CS fog housing is a projector. The long LEDs bulb cleared and all w/o fitment issues, but HIDs was the only thing that flowed correctly, since the CS fog housing has poor lighting to begin with

Got em from ddmtuning, if your lights are set to auto, and u start your car when it's dark, yes the lower fogs will fight for voltage if u don't have a harness with a dedicated relay. I've gotten myself into the habit of at least turning off the fog lights everytime I get out, as I didn't wanna go crazy and getting another harness. The headlights don't go thru that issue since I'm still using the factory ballasts
