Camber question

I have a 2014 mustang gt, I lowered the car with sr performance lowering springs which is 1.5" drop all the way around I also purchased an adj panhard bar and eibach camber bolts. After an alignment my front camber is -2.0 degrees. My question is does this seem right?

yes, it's normal for the negative camber to be more extreme once lowered, you need camber plates to get within spec (-1.5 deg) or (and I don't recommend them) camber bolts. but the negative camber is better for handling, you just need to make sure the toe is correct as toe being off is what wears tires

I understand negative camber comes when lowering, but the alignment shop said its -2.0 with the camber bolts maxed out

did they install them in the top strut mount bolt hole? it's odd because camber bolts generally offer 1.75 degrees of adjustment. I believe either A. the shop installed the bolts wrong, B. they didn't adjust them properly or, C. they simply didn't try adjusting them

LuisBlackGT,

I think scott_0's last comment is on to something here. It's strange you still have slightly too much negative camber with the cambers bolts and SR springs. We have a bunch of customers running the SR springs on 11+ Mustangs with no camber bolts and their alignment is within spec. I typically only recommend camber bolts for 05-10 S197 Mustangs, since they usually need a little tweak with a 1.5" drop, but never the 11+ S197's.

This is why I think scott_0 might be on the right path. How well do you know the shop that did the install?

Shane

The bolts are installed in the top hole, the only thing that i think is wierd is that on both sides the flange on the washer is pointing towards the engine bay. I brought it back to the alignment shop today and I told them that the flange needs to be pointed outwards for more positive camber and they then told me " that's not what my machine is telling me"

I know the bolts are in correctly I just feel as though the alignment shop isn't using the bolts correctly

the tab faces in to decrease the negative camber, but the bolt cam still needs to be adjusted

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought if the tab is facing in it adjusts for more negative camber and if it is facing out it adjusts for more positive camber?

Figured it out! The tab needs to be facing the wheel to get more positive camber

I lowered 1.5" and needed nothing...my alignment guy set everything within factory specs and I never had a problem...
