Need help removing a emblem

Has anybody ever removed the emblem from a 13-14 decklid panel? I'm trying to put one on my 2012, but I wanted to swap out the rear emblems first. I just don't want to break the decklid!

You need to remove the entire deck lid panel to have access to the back of the faux gas cap emblem. Are you removing the entire gas cap or just the center?

You need to grind down the melted tabs and then there are a few holes that let you can get a small nut driver head through. Once you get it through, you hold the outside edges of the faux cap and push like hell.. The chrome emblem is all part of the cap. The black piece will push away. If you are going to put an Emblem Pro custom center piece, or anything you will have to grind down the emblem before you stick the new design on.

one more tip; when you go to stick the new piece, heat it up with a blow drier so you can get it to slightly dome shaped like the one you take off was

I appreciate that! So you're saying that the little silver pieces sticking in from behind the emblem are what I need to get behind and push on? I was messing with it some last night but I tell you what that emblem wants to stay on there

Here is one I did.
Push below the four areas on the black piece to remove it

Once you push the black piece off, you will need to cut out or grind down the chrome part of the emblem. I cut out the GT and glued it back on the black panel I pulled out.

Finished with the one from emblem pros in place

So I found out my emblem is nothing like yours. My emblem has the running horse and the tribar logo and the horse is actually part of the chrome surround and can't be separated from the actual surround without cutting it out and ruining the chrome part. Soo essentially, I'm going to have to try to scavenge one or something from another car

LOL....the GT IS THE SAME......I cut the chrome GT out with a dremel tool. You can grind down the tribar pony or cut it out like I cut out the GT. You just push the black part away so you can see what to cut or grind.
