Never had a head gasket blow at all. they are blowing smoke up your ***.

To answer your other question. A window switch will start spraying at what rpm you set it at and stop at what rpm you want.
This is not the same as the full throttle switch.

I wish they were... One of these guys was my best friend/room mate in college for a while...

Had a well respected tuner do the work and all...

Thanks for answering the other question. They make it sound like on their website that you wouldn't need a window switch with this setup!

Don't need a window switch, but good insurance to control when it comes on and off.

Never once have I blown a head gasket due to nitrous. And a window switch is needed on a manual. Great way to destroy your intake, without one.

Maybe them 4.6's can't handle as much as the 5oohh's...
All I know is that I'm not talking out of my ***... I've seen it happen first hand to my friends and then a coworkers...
Frick who knows.

What spark plugs were you running when you were spraying??? AM is offering heat range 7,6,0 (??)...

And did you change the heat range of your plugs when you went from the 100 shot to the 150 shot???

I plan to track my car on the 150 shot, but then turn it down to 100 for the streets...

Ran the stock plugs on a 100 shot as well as a normal dyno tune.

Then the NGK iridium heat range 7's on a 150-200.

Don't waste your time on a 100 shot. Its nothing. 150 at the least

Thanks for the quick reply!

The reason I was keeping things kind of low for now is because I don't plan on buying headers for this thing just yet...

Price for HP gain isn't too intriguing to me at this time!

Everyone with a slow car says bottles are for babies. Nitrous can cost just as much as a turbo/ supercharger. My new setup is going to be about 6, 000 total

1. Can a car with nitrous be daily driven? (I heard with the nitrous tune, daily driving is difficult..?) Does that mean one would have to switch from nitrous tune to daily tune every time they want to daily drive without the spray?

2. With nitrous, how does it affect the MPG?

3. How well does nitrous work on a Auto 5.0?

Thanks in advance!

With the nitrous tune you will have to pull timing, so you can run it daily but you will be down on power. And actual nitrous won't affect your daily mpg since you don't use it when driving normally, just at WOT

You will have 2 different tunes. On NA and one for the spray. My tuner is working on a timing box for mine ( for coil packs) so we can just run 1 tube no swapping back and forth

1. A nitrous car is as easily a DD as a car without it. The only time nitrous will be used is when it is activated and under WOT. If neither of those are met, you have basically the same car you would have if you didn't have nitrous.

On my Z28, I lost 10rwhp from a nitrous tune. My LS1 doesn't have all the fancy sensors and computer smarts as a modern Coyote, so I would say a newer car would likely be within a few RWHP of a car with an NA tune.

2. Most nitrous cars can get slightly worse MPG (about 1 - 2 MPG) than a car without, simply because most nitrous tunes are made for slightly more fuel at WOT and less timing to prevent bad things when the nitrous is being used. That said, nitrous doesn't work unless you want it to.

3. I can't say from experience, I would assume with a tune, the auto is capable of shifting fast enough that a window switch may not be needed. I'm sure a 150 shot on a 5.0 Auto is just as fun as a 150 shot on anything else. It should work pretty damn well.

I lost about 20 HP from my old nitrous tune to all motor. That was on pump gas. On e85 not sure as never dynoed it on the nitrous tune without the bottle. But we didn't pull out much timing at all on the corn.

Nitrous has been my power adder of choice on my coyote since day 1. No matter what others tell you I can set you on the perfect road with nitrous on the coyotes. Been there and done it all on them so far

I have also seen some guys install a nitrous kit that they say doesn't require a tune. Does anybody know any info on that kind of setup and or if it's true or not. Watched a video on YouTube about it and the guy seemed pretty legit about what he was doing.
