JLT CAI

I recently ordered a JLT cold air intake. It says tuning required. Does it really need one? I have a 2014 gt/cs and don't want to void my warranty yet. Will it "throw a code" if i don't tune it? Has anyone installed one of these and not tuned their motor?

I have a JLT intake. It will run like complete balls without a tune, it is not driveable at all. It'll hardly manage to idle.

If you are concerned about warranty, just keep the stock airbox installed (it does a very good job for a stock piece).

Did you research this before you pulled the trigger?

No, I didn't research it. I have put a CAI on every vehicle that i have owned including a 2011 camaro ss. None of them have required a custom tune.

All previous posts are correct. I was parting out my last Mustang when it was totaled, left the JLT on it, but put factory tune back on to unlock my tuner but the car would idle then die with the JLT + stock tune.
