Spare tire

Hi everyone, this is my first post on the board, but I've been lurking for a while now.
Anyways, I just took delivery of my 2014 GT yesterday, and this morning I noticed that there was no spare tire. Is this typical?

I have the brembo package that includes 19" wheels.

They did not include a spare tire because the spare tire will not fit over the brembos I believe

Correct, you have a "tire mobility kit" or some thing like that. I have same thing.

Yes same think here up in Canada, a "tire mobility kit"! If anyone find another option let us know. I am assuming we could get a full size spare but I never took the measurements so I don't know if it would fit all the way in.

We do not have spares. We do have an air pump complete with fix-a-flat goo. More importantly, the dealer should have mentioned to you about ford roadside. Keep these numbers in your phone or glovebox, because this is how you get unstuck:

Ford Roadside: 1-866-330-0760
Producer code: 20809 (yours might be different, check the car paperwork)
Member Number: *(check your car paperwork, it should be listed. mine is 5 numbers long)
"Plan U"

Call up this number and give them this information, and they'll send a wrecker out to fetch you. There might be as long as an hour wait depending on where you are. There shouldn't be any charges for you to cover.

----edit----
A brembo rim w/ tire will not fit in the spare wheel well. I've tried.

Some cars do have spares, but it depends on the tires that come with the car, and the package. The spare has to match the diameter of the stock tires, or it will damage the differential. With the reliability of tires today, it can be a benefit not to have a spare. It adds storage space and reduces weight.

I agree it saves weight, but its like the only think holding the trunk mat up if you have an actual spare

My car came with a spare and it's the first thing I removed. Significant weight savings.

I originally had stock 17s and the trunk had a spare. When I changed my rims to 20s because of Brembos, I tried putting the 20" rim in the trunk. It fits but it does stick above the base of the trunk floor and there'd be a bulge I think.Click image for larger version

Lemme clarify - Brembo and Trackpack cars do not have spares that I am aware of.
Still, I'd keep that ford roadside information handy just in case.

My 2011 is not a Brembo or Trackpack Mustang, and it also did not come with a spare, but rather the air pump complete with fix-a-flat goo.

I had a flat on the highway one morning, and used the supplied goo and air pump to limp me over to the nearest Ford shop (closest repair on my way to work). Took advantage of the road side assistance, which in this case, got me a free ride to work, and a pickup back to the dealer when it was repaired.

This dealer called and said the Mustang was ready; they were reluctant to patch the tire, as they claimed the hole was from a large metalic object. I gladly paid for a new tire, but refused to pay for a charge they added, stating "hazard charge for removing tire with tire inflation chemical....". I told them I used the "Ford supplied" goo that was in the trunk, and followed the directions in the owners manual.

They promptly removed that charge.

To clarify, I didn't originally have Brembos. That was a later mod. My car is 2011 v6 coupe with premium package. When the big brakes were installed, that's when the adventure began.

The rim I dropped in the trunk was 20x8.5" with 255/35/20. It may not apply to all, as tire brands come in all shapes and sizes. Mine just happen to fit.
