No problems at all..

No problems at all
The plastic housing has foam between it and the door.
The speaker is very snug inside the Housing but I went ahead and did zip ties from the speaker to the housing to make sure.

Is there a good thread on removing the door panel out there? I have new speakers coming in this week and I got a fun filled weekend ahead of me.

Plenty of UTube videos for the door removal

Plenty of UTube videos for the door removal. I watched it once and then played it why I was doing ot he job. The one I watched stated for a 2013, so that is why I was surprised at the Speaker bracket being different

it really not hard at all

You can buy the standard speaker adapters and avoid cutting up the OEM ones. They're not all that expensive and would save a lot of time. Nice job though. What speakers did you use?

Understood

Like I stated before. I did not know what I was getting into until I took the door off. The video I watched on Utube called 2013 Ford Mustang Door Speaker Installation. Was showing I didn't need them. (I waited 3 weeks to put them in and the Kicker Subs) I wanted to put them in once I had the door off.
If I really want to swap them back out ill get some cheap Walmart 6X8's so im not worried about the replacements

As far as what I put in I bought Audiobahn AS68Q 2-Way 6"x8" 6x8 200 Watt.. off Ebay for 49$ . all I have next is changing the factory 500 Amp for the Shelby 1000 and later add one for the door subs and hook up a trunk sub.

Another option is to buy the foam enclosures to protect the speaker from water and reduce any rattle. Nice write up BTW.

They are just the adapters to accept standard type 5x7 or 6x9 speakers. I got them from this dealer by mail order:
