Got a 5.0

I had a 2013 mustang v6 with the performance package and pypes axel backs and ran a best 8.96@ 78mph now I brought a 2014 mustang GT auto. What should be the first mod? I was looking at the BOSS intake manifold and a JLT cold air intake and a Bassani axle backs.

Tune & CAI ... if you have the funds ... then the Boss Intake is a very nice compliment.

After that, you will need to start looking at your suspension ... it will be hard to keep that power planted if you know what i mean.

Best Regards,

TJ

Tune and axle-backs are an absolute no brainer. Forget the CAI. I've heard good and bad things ab the Boss mani being worth it or not.

Are you just looking for more power, or are you also interested in suspension, or exterior, etc.?

If you're after power and acceleration, than I highly recommend a CAI and tune. Next a stall convertor will go a long way for acceleration too! Also, if you plan to pick up a Boss Intake Manifold, using a catless mid-pipe will significantly help the power band.

Give us a better idea of what you're looking for. Than we'll be able to point you in the right direction!

The only thing bad about the boss intake manifold is you can gain up to 25rwhp but lose 10-20rwtq. It's good but you are only trading off from hp to tq. So I'm looking at a steeda cold air, with lund Racing tune and a off road x pipe with Bassani Axel backs

To add on what BoostedStang mentioned- The Boss Intake is great if you enjoy the high RPM's and max track performance. If you're sticking with minor bolt-ons and driving mostly on the street, than the factory intake manifold will suit you the best.

If I'm driving only on the street and maybe 4 times to the track a year, is it good to get the corba jet intake manifold, which I seen very good gains. I'm was planning to do that with a x pipe and a Lund racing tune. For power

I would do all the suspension first because it makes the car really fun to drive. Then lay on the extra power with the intake, tune, manifold, and exhaust. Id definitely get the manifold at some point if you ever question getting it. I love mine, opened up the car a ton.

Do you got the corba jet mainfold?

That would depend on how you like to drive on the street. The Cobra Jet intake manifold will give you killer HP gains and decent torque gains, but they're way higher in the RPM range than before. If you often like to hear your Mustang's engine scream at high RPM, than definitely go for it. However, if you usually cruise 3k RPM or lower and go to the track just 4 times a year, than I would stick with the stock intake manifold.
