Painting calipers

Hi everyone,

I want to paint my calipers (stock floaters, not Brembos). I'm sick of the ugly grey rusty color and I want to paint them. I don't want anything flashy since they are nothing special so I'm thinking flat black. Anyways so a few questions. I've never taken calipers off. Can someone explain it a bit, like how difficult, what tools, some basic steps?

For those that have painted their calipers before what brand of paint did you use (I know I need a high temperature resistant paint)? What did you use to clean and prep your calipers before painting?

Taking the brake calibers apart is decently easy. If you have basic hand tools, than that's all you really need. As well as a C-clamp to seat in the brake pistons back a little. Other than that, you should be fine with the video guide linked above.

I've personally used Duplicolor Brake Paint in the past with a few of my cars. It seems work nicely and stay clean over time. I suggest taking a look at some of our customer submitted photos for real life examples!
