What do you all think

Ok after watching hundreds of videos just to decide what exhaust I wanted to get for the mustang I am now stuck between catback and axelback. I am all most 100% sure I want the Borla S-type. I can't seem to decide between the two different set ups. Is it really worth the extra money for the catback setup? Is there really a huge sound difference between them, I can't really tell from online videos.

Thanks

From what I hear, sound clips online don't do any exhaust justice at all.

You don't need catbacks, just get axle backs and call it a day.

If you have Sync go sit in your car and listen with the stereo up, couch better than computer/iPad/phone.

I have Borla and love them. Compliments all day long. They speak when they need to, and won't make your neighbors hate you.

Catback gives a slightly fuller and deeper sound. Some will argue that it doesn't but you can check and compare same system (ab vs cb) and hear a deeper fuller sound.

There is a difference for Catback but not enough IMO to justify buying unless you are going to delete the cats. if not just do axleback.

That's a great idea. I just did that and it was better then crappy computer speakers.

I agree. After listening to more sound clips For what is it is worth. There is not enough to justify when other things can be done. After talking to some friends and reading the replies here I did decided on the axelback S-type. Just ordered them now. Thanks all.

I have the S-Type axlebacks and get compliments on them all the time, and heads definitely turn when I accelerate. It's not annoying while cruising.
They were easy to install, just put jack stands on the rear axle and removed the hangars.
Cold starts are a little loud, but I haven't gotten any complaints from neighbors yet.

Good choice! The catback is hard to justify sometimes. Especially with you're just looking for some tone/volume and aren't going crazy with modifications. I typically recommend catbacks for guys that are looking for squeeze every bit of power out of their Mustangs. Other than that, I always choose the axleback first. Might as well save the extra cash for something else!

I'm sure you'll enjoy your new Borla S-Types!

Yeah I agree if you don't have an extra $300 or so then its not worth it for just that extra tone.

Its a fine line but distinct enough to be aurally distinguished. I know I would be able to hear the difference so I opted for the full CB system. I also deleted my cats too. So it all made sense to me. AB is fine if you're not gonna do high flow cats or straight pipes.
