just bought a 2011 mustang GT premium

Hey guys hows it goin! just bought my self a 2011 5.0 (black)
i payed 21.5 for it and it has 36xxx miles.
all i have owned is beamers, so hopefully she'll be First.On.Race.Day.

im sure this thread has been posted numerous times and i'm sure many of you will be annoyed by me asking this...

What are your preference's on what to do to the car first?.?..
it has a Bassani axleback, tint, and window louvers which i love.
eventually i'm going to do coil overs, rims & HID's. for now i'm focused on what bolt ons and tune to buy.
i've read that most performance parts you add to the car require a tune, even an exhaust and intake?! so in saying that WHAT ARE YOUR GUYS OPINIONS on the best bolt ons, and tunes for the car?!

im gonna do some reading around but i'd greatly appreciate it for you .02 cents

-patrick

For a track car or any car for that matter I would go mgw short throw shifter and upgrade the suspension. I went tune and cai last time and the power increase was great but I couldn't put it to the ground.

Since you're coming off of owning BMWs, I suggest suspension work first and foremost to get that handling feel back.

Springs/shocks/panhard/camber bolts or plates/control arms/stickier tires.

+1 on the MGW shifter, too.

I just bought a new 2014. The first thing I did was shifter bracket. The shifter is total mush until you get a more firm bracket on there. Since your car already has some mods, they might have taken care of it already, but it's worth a quick look under the car with a flashlight to check the situation. That little $80 bracket really made it a much more enjoyable drive.

Since you're out of warranty, sky is the limit. Check on CAI and tunes. Steeda claims another 45 WHP with tune and intake combo. I ordered one last week (stinking backorder...)

Some other things I've been looking at personally that I would also suggest for you; lower control arms to increase traction, SR lowering springs (only about $180, well spent) and an adjustable panhard bar to keep the rear in line. After that you're looking at headers, throttle body, BOSS intake, and wheels/tires.

Before all of that though, order yourself two buckets, a good wash mitt, a california water blade and car wash soap. I wash my beast every weekend and it's the best 30 minutes of my time.

There's a frpp tune and intake from ford racing which retains the warranty but it has to be installed at a ford dealer and from what I've heard about it the increases are mediocre at best.

If you want to do performance mods and are worried about your warranty there are a host of suspension items that will make a big handling difference!

I've got a steeda CAI and steeda tune and have 2 warranty issues done on my car, both power train, and the dealer hasn't said a word. I even told them it was tuned so they wouldn't reset my PCM for some reason and screw my car up. Steeda is very close to ford. You should feel comfortable buying stuff from them.

Just to add it replaces your existing 5/60 factory warranty with their 3/36 warranty.

A dyno tune isn't necessary and there are far better tuners than Bama. Choose wisely.

I know this is a bit stale, but just got my parts installed this morning. HUGE power gains with the Steeda CAI and tune combo. Also huge amount of noise from the engine at WOT around 5k. I don't mind, really, but it is super noisy. After I get done "testing", lol, I will post MPG gains. Probably next week's fill up.
