No car will makes its rated horsepower on a wheel dyno. All the numbers you see are for a dressed engine, running accessories, on an engine stand.

Everyone's in the same boat. Manufacturers have been using this far more authentic measuring stick for ages. That said, on a sticky tire and the mildest tune out there I hit 11s so, screw what the dyno says, real world tells what's really going on.

For the most part all auto makers HP ratings are engine HP or HP at the flywheel that the engine is creating. Between flywheel HP and rear wheel HP you will have a difference due to the power loss in the power transfer through the drive train. Autos generally lose around 15% HP while manuals are usually around 10% give or take a few percent.

Another thing to consider is that all dynos are not apples to apples. Depending on the type you might get a higher read out then on others. Which is why I never understood why people put such a huge deal on dyno numbers. Its a great tool to tune a car but its simple a tool.

Dyno's are great for a before and after. Just going somewhere and dynoing the car doesn't really do a whole lot if you aren't there to tune it.

I have personally witnessed stock Coyotes put down 350 - 380 totally stock and 390 - 420 with typical mods.
