Hurst short throw

Hey guys, I recently purchased a hurst short throw shifter from a guy on eBay. I just got it in the mail today, and when I checked the package, it's missing the foam gasket that goes between the shifter mechanism and where it mounts to the car. I emailed the guy and he said he never used that piece, just put double sided tape there instead. Anyone ever done this? Should I try that, or just try to find the foam gasket?

It won't work, the shifter is bunk without it. Since its only partially there, I'll give you $20 for the metal.

Again... Compstall is a troll. He likes sowing disharmony and hatred thru comments that allude to much but pertain to none. Check his history of posts lol.

But I'm also a troll... I trail comptroll just to keep him honest lol

If you have an old bicycle tire tube cut it a piece and use that. It works just a good.
