Swarr bar or weld the axle tubes?

I've started looking into a drag tire setup, but after hearing about people twisting the tubes and losing a tire at the very least, I thought I'd see which is the better option as far as cost and effectiveness, pros and cons, etc. Anyone have any knowledge or experience to help me out?

BMR is close to coming out with something where you won't have to weld your axle tubes. The Swarr Bar won't do a good job in my opinion.

Any particular reason? They also sell a weld-on swarr bar for $110 that welds to the bottom of tge tubes rather than clamps around them.

Sent from church, because I'm out of cheerios.

As far as cost and effectiveness, I'd weld the axle tubes. A good speed shop won't charge more than an hours worth of labor for this and it doesn't add any weight to the vehicle. The Swarr bar would certainly help, but I feel it's unnecessary for a drag car making less than 550rwhp. Welding the axletubes should more than suffice.

Of course, we sell Swarr bars and I'd love to sell you one, but your question was regarding cost and effectiveness. In which, I don't think the Swarr bar fits the criteria.

Hope his helps!

Shane

Get the weld on Swarr Bar and weld the axle tubes too. I removed my rear end for these mods, but it can also be done with the rear end in place.

Here's a pic of the rear end after it was painted. You should be able to see where the right axle tube was welded to the pumpkin.
