Bad tune problem is fixed for the time being! Car is PARKED safe and sound in the garage. Won't drive it until I get it tuned
Gotta love having 4 vehicles......... until it's time to pay insurance :-/

Maybe so, but ultimately the Dyno Edge there where he lives will get his tune right where it needs to be. He lives at high altitude, canned tunes and data logging is a waste of time when great help is right down the street, and the cost is very reasonable.

Anyone happen to know how long it takes beefcake racing to email you the tune that you purchase?

I paid for it Thursday and didn't hear anything else... I know it's only been a day and a half, but it is just an email... not like we are dealing with shipping time here :-/

Just curious cuz I did park the stang until the arrival of this tune for safety!

Dude I completely agree with u and have stated in the past that u gotta pay to play and if ya double down and get a 12 then ya still gotta pony up the dough.

But not everyone is wanting to go hardcore. The stock motor puts out enough juice for 99% of the people out there. Suspension work that don't touch the transmission and diff can still return heaps of rewards for people who wanna do mods but can keep the motor warranty intact.

Not everyone pulls in 6-7 figures like u and can afford to just build a motor that'll cost $8k.

Although principally I agree with u I just don't agree with ur Gung Ho balls shaven to walls approach.

You are well above others here in terms of how much you've modded ur stang but keep in mind that as an enthusiast you can be as noob as just a set of AB exhaust or as hardcore as a built motor with 300shot NOS and a turbo charged setup as u.

I'm just happy that the OP didn't post some world wide open question like "ok now I have my car what should I do now to make it faster?"

And... Fk the Spurs... Go Mavs! Lol

Did he respond that he got the email? You can always call him. He's available 24/7.

Regarding 'next step', everything else than Nitrous will probably require more air in. The soft (less expensive) approach is to install cold air induction. If you have access to a dyno, you will be able to confirm this if you watch you air/fuel ratio over your power curve. Other improvements may get you on the low side. I am also very satisfied with the 90 mm TB, for the same reason. I am now very slightly too rich, and get very good gaz mileage, too.

After physical parts added, then get a custom tune.

PS : nitrous is different, because the bottle's magic blast chemistry provides the required comburant along with the combustible. More oxygen is irrelevant, in theory.

Not trying to sound Gung ho, just something my dad taught me when I was younger, don't mess with something and expect it not to break or have problems. No need to worry about something, have fun with it. And if it breaks fk it, take your time and build it. Just stay positive in everything you do and have goals.

Car isn't on the bottle right now either, sold the old setup, waiting on new one

I don't have the lope tune but it's been posted by some on these boards that the lope tune shouldn't be used as a daily driver tune.

I've read a little and I think I remember seeing that if you are still catted, the cats will heat up too much if you are in traffic or at lights... something about the added fuel and less air at idle...

I THINK.... Don't jump all over my *** if this is wrong... I can't exactly remember what I read cuz it was a while back...

Ehhh who knows... it is from Lund... the way people talk, if it's from him, it's legit :-/

That's mostly the reason I am asking here...
You would think that if it was bad for my motor that they wouldn't have even sent me the tune!! Lol
I'll keep looking around the forums.

Based on numerous past thread posts about the cam lope tune YOU NEED TO REMOVE CATS. If your cats are ON, its a NO GO to use cam lope tune. Remove cats is the strongly recommend do.

The issues with the "cam tune" are overrated also. Sure people like bama can't get it right, bc it's something they actually have to do something vs multiple choice questions.

Beefcake will set you up with one that will work flawlessly, from lund if your into the cam tune

Sweet bro. Your cats are removed your golden. I know Bama will only make the cam lope tune for the 5.0's if the car has no cats.

I agree that if Lund saw you had cats on, no way he would of made that cam lope tune for you. It will cause damage with the cats on.

Your golden bro and enjoy your new cam lope tune. I can't say I'm a fan of that tune but I have never heard of any issues or damage caused by it once cats are off. Enjoy bro!

Uploaded the regular tune to the car and took it out for a drive. Car feels sooo much better... even got a little squeak from the rear tires getting into 3rd with TC on...
They definitely found some hidden power

Lol

The ghost cam tune is bad not because they overheat the cats. It varies the timing and the fuel. It dumps fuel into the combustion at idle which actually lowers the exhaust temp which is good for the cats but bad for the O2 sensors.

So bottom line is its bad for the o2 and bad for your wallet cuz you waste gas.

My mpg's have settled at 15.4 city/highway with the ghost cam tune.

It is fairly rough to drive with. For some reason, if I leave the driveway, go to the store or whatever, then get back in the car, it isn't too happy to get back into ghost cam mode, and dies sometimes when trying to back up.

I'm going with a local tune as soon as I get the time to drop the car off. I could do the back and forth thing with datalogging but what a pain in the ***.

eh I wouldn't deal with that non sense with a car that cost $30k to $35k+ maybe an older car but not a newer car, but that's just me.......
