Mustang noob

Hey all:
Just got a 2011 GT after selling my Impreza WRX. I must say, it is a much better overall driving experience. I put just over $5,000 of aftermarket upgrades and tunes into the WRX and was making 320whp and 380wtq. While it was a quick little car, I was pretty much maxed out on the "safe zone" of power on the stock engine and transmission. In order to get more power, I'd have to shell out big bucks for engine and transmission upgrades. Shifting gears was like dragging a stick through gravel, the sound system was terrible. The stock shifter on the GT is much more smooth and it feels like it corners as well as the WRX (The GT even seems to lean much less on corners)...and of course I'm really liking the stock sound system. At any rate, I just wanted to introduce myself to the Mustang world and I look forward to learning from the forum about power upgrades and the like. I'm in south florida (Miami) so I'd be glad to know if there are any Mustang meets in the area.

Alos, Tower Shops is pretty close to where I am. I just hate that I just got the car and it's still completely stock.

Welcome...not sure what the world of mods is for the WRX. But be prepared to be sucked into the black hole of Mustang Modifications. You will never get out once you get sucked in. It's a roller coaster ride, hold on tight, enjoy, and good luck!

Welcome man. I'm no noob to the mustang world, but like you I came out of a 2011 WRX with stage 2 mods putting down 280awhp and 322awtq. I also was afraid of dreaded piston ringland failure, and rod issues, so I dumped it after 3 years of ownership and pretty much got my money back. The GT would blow the doors clean off the WRX as it sat an it was quick. And the handling is right on par with it. I enjoy the mustang a lot more but I won't be driving it in the winter obviously. Hope you enjoy it man. Here's a pic of my WRX lol
