Flowmaster Install?

So I'm about to install my new outlaws and I'm worried I won't have enough clearance with my small jack.. Has anyone installed theirs with just an OEM jack or a smaller aftermarket one? Do I have to put it on blocks or car jacks? Sounds stupid but I haven't done anything in a while mechanically after an injury.. Just want to be safe.. Main goal is to have enough elbow room to get leverage to loosen up the hangers since I've read that's the toughest part and to have the car stable and not come crashing down on me.. HA HA

Jack stands are a must buddy. You could probably rent a floor Jack for a few bucks

I used jack stands under the rear axle - with a block of wood on each to prevent damage to anything. It was more than enough to get under there.

Also, loosen the clamps on your midpipe to over-axle pipe. It makes lining the axlebacks up so much easier (I own a set of outlaws too, and this was a must).

I just did this install three days ago. I just backed the car up on ramps. This gave me plenty of room.

I was told after I did it that there were some instructions in the box but some tips I have for you are:

Undo the hanger at the tips first. Then take the bolts holding the forward hangers out. Then unclamp them and drop them out

Grab the clamps off the old muffler and bend up the tabs holding them on. Twist them right where the spot weld is and they will pop off cleanly

Pull the forward hanger off of the old mufflers and put them on the new muffler and bolt them in place. Then put on the hanger at the tip. Then clamp them down.

It really is a simple install and can all be done with a 13mm

Use spray lube of choice on the rubber hangars. They come off a lot easier.

1+ invest in a pair of ramps, walmart is the cheapest for a decent pair of plastic ramps. Also, spray the around tge rubber mounts with some penetrating spray lube or wd-40 if you already have some. Wait about 10 mins or so and they will slip right off. If you don't have some orange pumice hand cleaner then be sure to wear some latex gloves

Give your cash to a buddy and have them order the parts you want online with their debit card.

You don't need them just lay down there and bolt them up. Installed gt500 mufflers without anything and the flowmaster hush powers.

A buddy of mine in Albuquerque is selling a pair of American Thunder axlebacks off his 2011 for $200. They're a little dirty but will clean up easy enough.

I will be in heaven when I can actually HEAR my exhaust!! Lol I had Mac H-pipe, and Mac axle-back on my 06 before I got this so I was used to hearing the beautiful sound a stang makes! Then I got the new 14 and I've definitely got the power I wanted BUT it doesn't sound like I have the power!

Long story short, I saw my receipt said 11-12 flowmaster when I looked at it last night! They won't fit mine, so I called today and talked with a mgr about it.. He said they actually had mine in stock!! Made me mad for a few min cause I could've put em on yesterday but then I realized I wouldn't have to wait for them to be shipped so I'm good now! Picking them up tomorrow before work and then throwing them on Thu!

Yea the ONLY reason I didn't go with Roush is because I didn't like the fit.. Most I looked at were sticking out JUST a lil bit more than I like.. I like more of a flush look..

not good. but at least you don't have to wait to long. being antsy and ready to install is the hardest part of modding, IMO.. lol

You're 100% right! The anticipation of getting them on and down the street is the most exciting and time consuming part! Lol

I think it's the same exhaust because when mine came in they said 11-12 and they fit perfect on my 14

That's CRAZY it fit! I actually called flowmaster just to check with them and they said that there's a different one for 13-14's.. but who knows could just b an eighth of an inch difference on the hanger or something miniscule..

I would call and check because the 13-14 have the same chassis as the 11-12
