Mickey Thompson Street Comp Tire - 305/35-20

Anyone have experience with these new MT tires? I have Nitto 555 285/30/20 and I hate them. Besides having less than stellar traction it just looks like 265s running so damn narrow.

I saw some pics of 275/35/19s and they look wider than my 285 Nittos. So I'm not sure if 305/35 would rub.

Was hoping for 30 aspect tires. Not sure if 35 would rub or not.

So are these tires pretty good? I read a couple reviews but I'd like some unbiased first person accounts.

I have Shelby CS40 20 inch rims (10" rears) I hope the fit and don't rub.

I'm running the Mickey Thompson 285x 35x19 in the rear of my car. Great tire, as they hook up with little spinning. Exceptional tire for 300 treadwear.

They are the best street tire IMO. I have tired. Nitto 555's/ Invos. Hankook v12's, normally run around on drag radials. But when I do not it's the mickeys street comps

They won't rub. And honestly do not take to much "confirming" from AM. You will be perfectly fine with the 305

Hey rap...
Have u tried BFG KDW2s? Curious as how they compare to the street comps. Had them on my goat, and looking for better street tires. DRs out of the question cause I drive about 25k a year.
Thx, and sorry for the pseudo hijack!

Yes i have. But I believe they stopped making the kdw2's at least a few sizes they did anyways. I know they dropped the 295/35/19's. And a few others.

The street comps are better IMO.

Any comments on the Michelin AS3's? Thinking of getting those once the pirellis wear out.

Hey guys,
I have always heard good things about the Nitto 555's. What exactly is wrong with them?
Should I get Mickey Thompsons instead?

Nitto 555 runs narrow. I currently have 285/30/20 on mine and by comparison to my friend's 285s mine run closer to like between 265 and 275 (like 270).

And guess what? They stick like 265s. Other than they being relatively inexpensive and lasts a good while (26k with probably another 5k life left) I wouldn't recommend these tires or even use them again unless the 305/35/20 Mickey Thompsons prove to be too tall a tire. Those MTs are even cheaper than the 555s I think.

Thanks. The bfgs are more dough, which i don't mind, but need grip obviously. Was very happy with the kdw2s on the gto. Guess i am heading over to mickys next.
