Dents in roof? Warping?

Has anyone known their roof to warp?. I just got a 2014 on Saturday it was used with only 2k miles on it. But I did a very complete visual inspection before I bought it. Also had another set of eyes to look and there were no dents on the roof. Nothing has fallen on the car I am 99.9999% sure. (Leaving room for Murphy's law....) But today I noticed that there are SEVERAL large area dents. Almost invisible upon first glance but pretty apparent when you are looking for them. It's been pretty hot and humid here in va the past two days I'm wondering if these dents could have happened by warping. I've been anal about the car since I got it Saturday. And can't think of any way damage could have happened to it.

Never ever heard of sheet metal warping on cars... In fact, you'd think if it was getting hot enough for pro-longed periods of time you'd see clear coat failure first. Also, think about paint booths that reach extremely high temperatures.

Yeah that's true. I guess I was at a last resort trying to figure out what's going on though. They definitely weren't there Saturday...

If you do some searching on these boards, you'll find an interesting story about a user's older 99-04 Mustang and how his neighbor's 7 year old or something climbed on top of his Mustang and completely totaled the car because the roof needed a whole new panel or something like that, haha.

Could there have been a storm in your area recently that produced hail?

From the contents of your post, it sounds more like larger indentations then hail would cause though.

Doubtful a dog got on the roof, but maybe a child in your neighborhood climbed on top?

It's entirely possible I suppose. But yeah I think I'm gonna find a good dent repair man. They're too noticeable that both of us missed them the first time. And it's more that the light reflections off the roof isn't one uniform plane. So hopefully the sheet metal has some memory to it that some heat may pop it back to where it needs to be. I'm at work now bit will try and get pics later

If they are light impressions over a large area, almost like a wave, it will be difficult for Dent Wizard or any PDR tech to make it look perfectly smooth again. It can be done, but with roof bracing and other obstacles, it will be a very difficult job. If they are smaller impressions, say a foot diameter, that will be easier to finish.

Warping or kinked edge dents usually cannot get repaired PDR wise.
