bottom end

2011 gt auto. 29k 3:15 gears. Not impressed at all with bottom end/ take off. Wot is a crawl until 3-3200 then it picks up. I'm guess its the 3:15 but its not fun to drive. I think its time for a tune?

tune and 4.10 gears should take care of that.

While this has been beat to death....

Tune first (vmp, Lund, whoever).

That will be an immediate improvement in WOT.

Going to 4:10 on the auto is a mistake.

If tracking, upgraded stall/torque converter would be advisable as well.

There a lot of 5.0 auto guys with experience who know what they are talking about.

Search a bit and you'll weed out the BS from those pretending to know (who don't even drive a 5.0 auto).

Good luck.

Just because I don't own a 5.0 doesn't mean what I'm saying is bs. I know a few guys that run 4.10s in their auto 5.0 and with some sticky tires and suspension upgrades they love them.

Horrible advice. I'm guessing you have zero experience here?

Trust me it's B.S. But please keep misleading people on subjects that you know nothing about.

Plan is to keep the gear for now. Going to start with a tune and then suspension first. Then reassess the proformace from there.

AED does most of the modded Mustangs in my area since they have a shop close by for actual dyno tuning.

Well I guess it's a matter of preference for some people because like i said I know people who like them. Instead of just saying its a bad idea how about explaining why. What gear would you recommend instead?

For an auto, go with 3:31's, it will be like running 3:73's in the mt-82.

Thanks. Would the same go for my v6? I was told automatics would require a steeper gear than manual. Guess I was misled myself. You wouldn't recommend I go 3.73 for my auto?

No, the 6R80 (the auto in the 13-14 mustangs) has steep gearing in the transmission. The stock 3:15's in the rear make it equivalent to 3:55's, 3:31's would be equivalent to 3:73's, and so on. I wouldn't use more than a 3:31 gearing for this transmission.

I don't know what a 3:73 rear gear would be equal to with this transmission, either 4:10's or more.

AED, or Mike Rousch. I would lean towards Mike Rousch though.

No need to explain as I've already explained this to many times already. 3.15's or 3.31's. No more gear.

Actually it's the 11-14 Mustangs.
It's in the 11 and 12's too? I thought Ford introduced it in the 13 MY.

The number one thing that will change ur 0-60 or 1/4 mile times is a stall, even a 3000 stall will knock up to .5 of ur 1/4 with tires
