So I have about 2500-3k to spend . Exterior wise I think it's done . I'm hesitant to lower it as I drive it in the winter . Only performance stuff done is tuned and borlas . Any ideas I thought about a centri for a while but driving in chicago winter would suck

Save up for a supercharger or something, unless you want to deck out your handling and suspention mods..that would ideal as well

Just take the factory handling and suspension out and get after market ones, I bet you'll enjoy it 😭 that's basically all you can do with a auto haha

A supercharger won't do you much good if you can't put the power to the ground. You'll just be stuck spinning your wheels...

Get yourself lower and upper control arms, along with a upper control arm mount and relocation brackets. You can do a mild drop, like an inch. Get a panhard bar, shocks, and struts. If you shop around, you can get all those parts for around $1k.

Take what's left of that money and put it aside for a supercharger.

Invest it. Wait till it grows then have more to spend on it later.

OP could be dead by the time the investment grows. Wait how long to spend later? 6 months? 1 year? 2 years? 5 years? 10 years? How much of a dollar amount should it grow before spending later?

Might take that 3k and find a winter driver! I'm also a chicago driver (Northern 'burbs ftw?) and the first order of business this fall is buying a beater 4x4 truck to keep my lady from the ******** winters & salt around here.

For about 1500 you could redo most of the major parts of the suspension. The other 1500 could go into some decent rims w/ streetcomps.

Ha ha ha. What line of work is that bro? I would invest the extra cash into getting 3:73 gears, long tube headers and off road or catted x pipe and let's not forget the Boss intake manifold.

He has an auto thus those gears won't make the car any faster. You need to stop giving out advice on things you know nothing of. It's not fair to people who might take you seriously.

What to do

Suspension, Suspension, Suspension I do not regret going with my first several grand on Suspension you can buy all the power in the world but if you can hook up no use but to say hey I got horsepower.

So what you're saying is upgrading his gears would make absolutely NO difference? LOL, what fantasy land are you living on? He would get off the line faster therefore his 0-60 mph and 60' would be better. Idk where you got off saying that?

Because I along with a group have others have been doing all the testing since these cars came out. Gears will not help an auto while a converter will.

What testing have you done again?

Heard in the auto 3.73 hurt time at the track due to shifting again before the line. The Cj intake is also useless for a street car I think more of a road course application. And already have amr rims . Maybe nitrous , headers , suspension . But heard headers are a expensive install

Cobra jet was designed for the dragstrip. Also would be perfectly fine on a street car bc there is not tq loss.

From another site. We tried to tell him his 4.10's would be of no help and he wouldn't listen. Once he hit the strip he finally realized what we'd been telling him.

Here is a quote from Mike Rousch from Mid Atlantic Performance who has become one of the best auto tuners out there.

My sincere apologies to the OP for recommending 3:73 gears on his 5.0. I didn't pay enough attention that it's posted in the 2011-14 GT section. For some reason I thought it was posted in the general discussion forum. OP, get what ever Grabber Blue 5.0 and or Rapinator tells you too get for mods. They will get you straight.

Gears on a auto- is a no no
On a manual is questionable, depending on your setup.

$3k to spend on mods and u still have the stock suspension?!?!! That is the weakest point on these cars, it shouldn't event be a question. U can add all the power u want and ur still gonna be slipping and sliding all over the place, u just need a mild drop with LCA w/ relocation brackets along with UCA and ur at least planted enough to get the power u already have on the pavement

That must be a 5.0 thing because the 3.7 is awesome when I installed 3:73 gears on it and I have an auto.

I hear the watts link by whiteline tightens up the rear end of the car amazingly well. Keeps the rear axle from shifting at all and is night and day in terms of handling. It's a cool $900 from AM. That's gonna be my next mod after I save some more dough.

A centrifugal supercharger wouldn't be as bad for a DD as a normal twin screw just because you don't get that smack in the face of torque all at once. The Centrifugal acts a lot like a turbo in some ways.

That being said, I totally agree with the others. For 3k you could do some amazing work with the suspension. Here's a suggestion, this has ALMOST everything (I wish they made it for the V6 ):

Hotchkis Stage2 TVS Track Pack Mustang Handling Kit 80118-2 (11-14 GT) - Free Shipping
