Camshafts?

So a couple questions here. I just recently bought headers and x pipe and saw that in order to have stage 3 cans for comp cams I neede LT headers and gears.. However I've never seen any other type of cams are those the only cams for a 2011 5.0 or is there another website that I can find those? Second I've heard they don't lope but saw a post saying they have a ghost tune. What is a ghost tune?

Only way to get them to lope is to disable the VCT and delete the phasers and add lockouts.

Comp make cams
Jpc does re grinds
L&M has cams
Mmr has cams

And with your basic mod list I would not worry about cams. There is alot more you can do first.
And if you still have the stock intake manifold the stage 3's will be useless

How high do you plan on spinning it with the boss? What tune?

Camshafts?

Don't bother with the Boss manifold. Here's a sample of what people debated with me about why I shouldn't have gotten mine:

Them: You don't make power
Me: Yes you do. You make power well past the 6500rpm power drop off with a stock manifold.
Them: You gotta spin to 7500/7600 to really see any useful power gains.
Me: That's bull cuz I see power gains after 6500!

They failed to bring the following point up and I will do you a solid: The Boss manifold effectively shifts your power bandwidth up about 1000 RPMs so that unless you shift at 7500 you will find yourself about 500-1000 below your power sweet spot thus effectively make you slower or about just as fast as with a stock manifold unless you shift 7500.

The car was more fun to drive with the stock manifold because I spend most of my time around 3-4000rpm which is 500-1000 below the new powerband spot.

It could be the tune but my car does feel slower at 3000rpm than it did before.

My Redline is 8k sees it everyday. Also don't listen to bama about there 60 hp gain with boss and a tune not going to happen.
Boss can either make or brake your build.

Custom grinds are always the way to go, and most places charge the same for that as regular off the shelf cams.

As for custom cams do I have to choose the duration? Lift and all or do they do it according to my needs?

It was perfect for Me bc it's the way my motor is set up.

I do not recommend 8k in a stock motor

Yes. Rap's got forged up internals so he's safe to spin up to the heights of heaven. I don't so even tho my rev limits is set at 7500 I shift by 7-7100 and that still leaves me a good 400-500 below power spot to accelerating at the most optimal.

I would go somewhat the route of Rap if you got the money. He's using a real safe route in terms of building his car except for the fact that he's trying to intentionally shatter his manual trans right now to a million pieces so that he can buy an auto lol.

Edit: I just remembered an important piece of info that probably affected my build. I'm running 3.31 gears. If you have 3.73 or 4.10 then you will be better off than me I would think.

I have 4.10's. But the rest of your build has to be setup for them. I ran with 3.31's b4 I swapped to 4.10's.

Lol yes a auto soon or maybe the magnum XL.
