Max A/C?

I have the 2014 base GT, and I thought when I hit the "Max A/C" button, it would automatically put the air on recirc (if it wasn't on already) and it would set the fan speed to high (regardless of the fan knob setting).
When I hit it, it sets it to recirc, but does nothing to the fan speed. If I have the fan on low and hit max A/C, the fan stays on low.
Is that right?

It works the same on the 2011 gt premium. Nothing will override the fan speed.

Now if you have the fan speed at the max on the single forward setting and recirculating air on/AC on, you will notice the max fan suddenly is faster when you push the max AC button.

It is if you don't have the DZ climate control package. With the more advanced dual zone AC, If you set it to defrost it will raise the fan speed automatically or if you set the climate to auto it will vary fan speed to maintain the temp chosen in the zones.

I don't have the automatic climate control, it's just the base GT. So, if I have the A/C on, recirc on, and all the air blowing from the instrument panel vents, hitting the max A/C button doesn't do anything?

Ok thanks, that just seemed odd to me. My wife's 2014 Fusion has the max A/C button, and when pushed it sets the blower to high as well as all the others settings mentioned above. She does have the DZ auto climate control, so I guess that's it.
