I think everyone here is forgetting tire wear

The higher the gear the more you ROAST your tires

I have 373's and can spin all day when launching from 1st
even with the traction control

Great gear for out of the hole
and will net 26 mpg at 70 mph

At 350 dollars a tire (installed and balanced)
These Pirelli P zeros need replacing about every 8 months

Thats $2100 in just 2 years in tires, and thats only the rears
Couldn't imagine the wear and tear with 410's

Entering 3rd year of ownership, only replaced 2 tires so far.

Gears don't roast tires. Lead feet do. If you go through $2100 worth of tires don't blame the gears. It's you who's driving right?

I can roast my tires just as much as you can. I have 3.31.

Thanks for the insight guys, went ahead and picked up a set of 3.73's. Played with the idea of 4.10's or 3.90's but ultimately decided on the 3.73's.

This fuel mileage that every one is getting, is that calculated or is that what the little thing in the cat says.

My 3.73 California special get 26 or so at 50 to 55 but at 70 I get 21. 275/40 on 19s

I've heard most really like the 3.55's for a DD, my car is a nice weather driver but doesn't get driven in the winter. Current mods are AED tune,JLT CAI and waiting on my Kooks 1 3/4 long tubes to arrive. Originally I was going to keep the 3.31's in anticipation of going turbo but with building a house the reality of that is the Helion TT is probably a few years off so considering building a NA instead. Only downfall is when I had a 3.73 car 1st gear was pretty short and hard to get to hook up but the car wanted to bog a little leaving in 2nd during spirited driving.
i like my 3.73 it picks up quick

I'd love to go from my 3.73's to 3.55's, maybe even 3.31's. This manual trans has retardedly low gear ratios. It would definitely help mpgs and help me at HPDE events as 4th gear is pretty tough to come out of turns without some spinning. That and if I ever go turbo, they love load. The ultimate for me would just be a sweet T56 and stick with 3.73's......
