I have a 2013 6 speed 3.15 gears.
CAI and Bren tune.
I looked at my gas logger and I am averaging 20.9 quite often. Even when I get on it more at really doesn't change it that much.
I know my wife's 2004 Sport Trac hit 20 MPG for the same drive so I am happy.

I was averaging about 17 mpg until I put on a BBK CAI, now I'm averaging 15 mpg. Looks cool but I'm going to put the stock unit back on.

Think that may be due to a heavier foot??? 😁 lol

I've only been getting 13-14 mpg.

But that's city, fun driving. When I drive my car, its not really to go somewhere, but to have fun! My F-150 FX2 is my daily driver / commuter vehicle. Also, I'm only at about 820 miles on the odometer, so I'm still in breaking her in.

Sidebar on break in: Did anyone actually baby their car & keep RPM's low during first X miles ? (Porsche recommends this for their cars in the manuals) When do you think a car is typically "broken in" ? (1000, 1500, 2000 ?)

If you're that concerned about mpg, you should have gotten a V6 or a Prius! Future stang owners can pick the ecoboost and should still have a fun car with lots of torque.

I saw a license plate on a Hummer that said "MPGWHAT". I think that applies here if you're buying a performance vehicle with a big beefy engine you have to expect to pay the higher gas bill !

I still get 12-16 mpg city. Heck, around fairfax/GMU, I get 6-10, I just don't care, I'm having fun.

2011 6sp 3.73 here. Put around 17,000 miles on her in mix of city, country, and highway driving (more city recently). Averaging around 18 mpg combined.

I drive a 2013 Paxton novi blown GT and see around 14-15L per 100KM (in Canada), which converts to 15-16 mpg.. and that's driving it pretty easy with the odd blast to show up a vette or new camaro.
My car also has 22,000km on it (just under 14,000 miles).. so its "broken in"

21+ MPG?!!?!?!

Do you have a baby on board? Fun police riding with you?

How are you getting that great of gas mileage. Even when I'm on the highway, I'm driving fast and "playing" a little so I don't get that good of gas mileage.

You sure you don't have a V6 or the new ecoboost?!

I'm getting 20-21 in my 2014 gt auto with JLT intake, bama race tune, kooks long tube headers and kooks catted x pipe. I drive it daily with about half city and half highway driving.

Well my problems:

1. When I drive my car its not to commute.. its for fun. (My DD / commuter vehicle is a 2012 F150 FX2)

2. I have an extremely heavy foot. I just love to accelerate quickly!

3. Motor isn't broken in yet. I only have about 900 miles on the odometer!

One tank included two passes at the drag strip.
One was a13.2 and the other was a 13.02.
I got 21.9 on that one.
Are you using 93 Octane

During the work week I drive 50 miles a day about 50/50 city highway. I can keep it at 22mpg easy without trying and can hold it at 23 mpg if take it really easy. Ive had a bunch of tickets and a dwi,
so Im in no big hurry! But on weekends it may drop to 18mpg in
city driving,if i start to play around more.

I continually get 23+ mpg just highway driving with 91 octane. I wouldn't say I'm babying it, I still get up to the speed limit pretty quick. My last tank was 23.8 mpg.

Only on the HW for 2 miles on my way to work but dont have a lot of stop lights or signs the rest of the way. I average 18-19 on my stock 2013 GT. It would likely be better than that if I didnt go out to my car and have it idle for a bit on my lunch breaks.

Yep I always use 93 octane, no ethanol gas.
And I even looked at my Trip A & B's which were after the first tank & 2nd tank fill ups. (figured gas from dealer was 87 or 89) One has like 670 & other has like 400+ miles. Both were like 13.1 & 13.2 MPG !!

I'm averaging 20, nothing but 93 my dealer also filled it up with 93 when I first bought it so that's all it has had since I bought her. On the highway I can get around 26 with the cruise set at 80. Btw it's a daily driver I take it everywhere.

I think some have a different view of what city driving is. To me, it is not being able to get into 5th gear, max 35mph speeds, with frequent stops. If you are able to get into 6th, you are no longer doing city driving.

93 is better. Ethanol free 93 is the best IMO.

I'm averaging 16-17 mpg, commute is mostly highway in NYC on the BQE and Belt, but if you ever drive on these highways, it is not really highway driving, always traffic and even when it is moving, you can never keep a constant speed.

I've been flooring it a whole lot more with this new update tune from BAMA. Still averaging 18.1mpg combined so I'm really amazed how some people are getting like 15, 14, or even 13mpg.

😝

I bought a 2011 GT last month. It presently has about 19.7K on the odometer, and the car runs as sooth as silk. This morning I decided to test some freeway mileage. I went from Laguna Hills, CA to Long Beach and back...99% of the driving was freeway. It's an auto tranny, and I kept the revs around 1500+ resulting in about 57-59 MPH...not even a slightly heavy foot on the trip. I got a high average on the freeway of 31.2 and for the entire trip 30.3. It's tough to drive that car like that. Normally I get 15-17 for most of the driving I do. I have a Camry Solara V6 I can't coax that kind of mileage out of. While I'm here...I have a question for the pros...is there a simple way to find my rear end gear ratio?

I do alot of city driving, my work is 4 miles away with 6 stop lights. I only go to and from work and am in family car rest of time. I fill with 93 octane and am currently sotting around 13 mpg. Going to have to take it for a nice cruise to austin soon to get better mileage.

My driving is pretty well mixed city and highway. Currently have 4500 miles and averaging 18mpg it was 18.5 but the foot got heavier.

It's tough to drive for MPG's with that kind of performance just waiting to be used. Is there much if any reason to use 93 octane rather than 91? I get excellent all-around performance using 91.
